Yes – selector switches go quite regularly on these ovens – disconnect the electric take the top off and you will see if its burnt out. You will then be able to get a switch from the online shop or call in a local engineer

Take the top off and remove the module from the facia and see if the button finger of the start button is broken. If so replacement part is 587486 button support

OK we need more information from you – is the motor running? If so if you put your ear to the side of the appliance can you hear hissing of gas or a gurgling?

OK then – switch it off and take out the freezer baskets. If the back panel is removable carefully remove them but be aware that it might be stuck in place with ice, in which case allow the appliance to fully defrost and then remove the panel. Check that the flow and return vents are clear of ice and that the evaporator is similarly free of ice build up. Put it back together and see what happens. If it freezes up again come back to us and we’ll take you to the next stage, if its OK then a cheap fix

The compressor is faulty, cost of the repair will almost surely be more than the unit is worth 😥

ModeratorRe: New UK Washing Machine Manufacturer ?
Ah agreed but at least someone from the UK is getting a wage for fitting these foreign parts and likely someone from the UK will benefit from repairing it 8) and for sure the tax man will be extracting UK tax from this British Company. I take my hat off to them for considering the idea, or as Mrs Petty said ‘we have the best engineers in the world its about time we started using them’ 🙂

ModeratorRe: Defra – Re-use forum
Tend to agree with you Steve but they are in the s***e big time with the government and their poor re-use figures. The easy answer was to get us involved and then if it goes pear-shaped they can pass the buck. Didn’t have to be diplomatic Environcom were there getting cut to shreads 8)

I believe I had this conversation with you sometime ago about who was or was not right Nigel – everyone on this forum has an equal right to their opinion which may not agree with yours.
