Re: Integrated MFI Fridge/Freezer needs to be replaced – HEL

Generally these appliances are designed to fit into a standard kitchen unit. Without blowing the trumpet of the independent service company network you might buy from a local company that will fit the item for you and subsequently look after both you and the appliance if it goes wrong. You do not have to spend vast amounts to get reliable appliances but what you should look at is the parts and labour cover the manufacturer offers. As a starting point you might consider Gorenje supplied by many independents and with a 5 year P&L guarantee as standard. If you post the area that you live in I’m sure you will get a response. Good hunting[/u]

    Re: Zanussi Freezer fault

By selecting the fast freeze option you are infact bypassing the thermostat and connecting the electric directly to the motor (compressor). Do not leave the fast freeze on too long or you will burn out the compressor. The part you require is the thermostat available from shop@ part number Zanussi 2262170034

I take it this is a built in freezer? – If so go to shop@ and quote the part number 546039401 and you will get a price and availability from Dave. Good luck.

Conventional fridge with ice box. Compressor is at the back not accessable without being removed from the cabinet. Thermostat is most likely and accessable from within unit.

Serial number please as there is three versions – assuming they all use the same wash-pump the kit you want is 720053900 called a screw and flange kit.

Optimist? – You seem to be totally missing the point from Gegsy. The reality is that Mike can do exactly what he wishes and we have no control over his actions. If he wrecks his appliance the responsibility is ultimately his. However, we as a public forum have a duty of care to advise the safe and sensible procedure to protect both the appliance and more importantly the reader. It may well be that we suggest he gets an engineer in, it may well be we advise a direction of diy or we might try and save him grief by suggesting the skip. Whichever we are not trying to be unhelpful but we are trying to be safe. At the end of the day the choice is with you the reader.

Re: Diplomat ADP8242 – how to remove cupboard door

From memory – take two long screws out at bottom left and bottom right sides of door (facing inwards). The top part of the door clips onto inner door, with screwdriver gently unclip. Tighten door handle and replace in reverse.

Re: Homark Cooker Hood gone bang

If you can post the model number that would be helpful. Its in the area above the filters. Quite often with these, if the lamp/bulb blows it can take out the switch panel on the front. Can give you more details when I have further info about the hood.

    Re: Indesit Franchise

Thats it – Indespoint you have made your point quite clearly and whilst some others may disagree with your stance it does not give you the right to be rude and agressive to them. This is a forum for the good of all and debate is most welcome, quite often heated. You are the master of your own destiny and all on UKW wish you well as you take the high road. I hope now we can close this subject for the time being.
