Has he checked inside the right hand warming drawer, the model number is the first four numbers from the serial number ?
The three simmerstats generally are:
P094839 – P025625 – P097311 but these are serial number dependent and modifications have been done.
The easiest way if he can’t find the model etc is to get the ego number from the old one 50.???? etc 🙂

The correct part number from Whirlpool’s disk for that model is 481235818158 (superseded to 481235818206) which is a 1242J5 so you have the right part in theory
Wrong model number perhaps of it came from the user manual ? 😕

Hotpoint etc never supply to component level. The best bet is to check the brushes for wear before ordering, it’s the most likely cause. 🙂
