    Re: Before It Starts

I must admit I chuckled a bit when I read it the first time. If the BBC chose to use it they could always have edited it but didn’t, who are we to argue with them about the media 😉

Nowt wrong with it at all, honesty is always the best policy 😀

And, yes Trigger pissed me off a bit with that email Alex 😡

    Yep, that’s the one Rufus.

The part you need is R210011 which I could order for you but it may take some time, bearing in mind the time of year, I would suggest you phone Caremark on 0870 7502435 as they may well have it in stock.

    Re: What Is UK Whitegoods?

The way I explain it to people is:

“It was initially set up as a platform for Independant repairers to communicate and share technical information, help with spares and repair tips.

We soon realised that there was a call from the public to be given honest and unbiased advice, and as Independants we could offer this.”

I personally see no need to hammer the “we were all fucked off with being messed about by WP’s” etc from the outset as this has no bearing on anyone else outside the industry and may well lead to the old crap about millitant loudmouths. It’s easier to open the door with the soft approach, then push the message home 😉

    Re: Names!

“Need a repair ?” or “Book a repair”

Presumably the link would then take the potential customer to a page with more descripitive information.

I can see a possibility of the directories and e-jobs getting confused as well, maybe a radical move but ask all the directory entries if they want to be automatically addded to e-jobs, removing the need for them at all or a direct link from every directory entry to the e-jobs page ?

Oddly enough, and I meant to post about this in the other thread, I found one the other week when I was looking for something else (ain’t that always the way ;))

It’s the right hand one, you can have it for a tenner inc postage if you want it.

Drop me an email and I’ll sort for you.

FDW60G is an Indesit in disguise Jezball 😉

It appears that all the new Hotpoint dishwashers are.

It’s a case of cosmetics or otherwise I’m afraid, if you really want graphite then that is the one to go for, if you want longevity, forget the colour and go for the Bosch Penguin recommended.

Aslo bear in mind the 5 year warranty thing only covers the parts after the 1st year and the condition is that those free parts are fitted by Merloni only, at circa £80 a call it’s not always the best option.

Soulcatcher, the door latching/switch assembly is £13.88 inc VAT and postage.

Take a close look at the conrol panel also as these have a tendency to crack around where the latch fits.

I can order and send to you if required, drop an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and I can arrange for you.

Re: 6224745 Fan Elements NIL Stock 🙁

Thanks Bryan. I’m not actually screaming for one yet but we are selling more and more of this element often using more than ten a week, either by our own engineers or selling them locally and on the shop here.

What concerns me is this element is fitted to a huge range of Creda, Hotpoint and Belling models and there will inevitably be unfortunate people left without ovens over the Xmas period if this lack of replacements isn’t corrected soon.

I’m laying my hopes on Qualtex at the moment.

I know it may sound daft Tony but check the tacho magnet as these are notoriously unrelaible and can cause the timer to lock up.

Otherwise, probably a dodgy thermistor or the control unit.

The part number you need is 481925928617 as John mentioned and they are still available both genuine and pattern.

See if John has one for you on Monday as it will help both of you.

If you get stuck though, give me a shout as I think I have a couple as well.
