I would have to agree with Dave in that, at this particular moment in time if we have a single priority it has to be to, find the third man.
Time is against us and P&G are the ones floating our boat at the moment.
I know that there have been a further couple of enquiries but we dont know if either is suitable yet. The P&G training is scheduled for early August and a sucessful new applicant may well have to give notice with a current employer. We all know that Dave’s committment is beyond question, that said he also has to be careful how he withdraws from CES or he may very well end up with a millstone round his neck. Remember we’re not just talkin’ business here, we are talkin’ family.

ModeratorRe: UKW CHARTER (amendments)
Part 2
Dealing with the general public, members should adhere to the following points:1.Shall always endeavour to remain pleasant and polite to customers at all times.
Sean says :-It has been suggested that we should insert the words endeavour to because IT IS NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE TO REMAIN PLEASANT AND POLITE TO CUTOMERS WHEN YOU ARE BEING ABUSED YOURSELF, AS ON OCCASION WE HAVE ALL HAD TO PUT THE PHONE DOWN ON ABUSIVE CUSTOMERS WHICH COULD IN ITSELF BE CONSIDERED IMPOLITE
2.Should treat customers with courtesy and respect.
Sean says :-Is this rule necessary as it seems that if rule 1 part 2 is followed then customers will automatically be treated with courtesy and respect, it seems like repetition
3.Should remain as open and transparent as commercially possible with customers
SEAN & CHRIS say :-SAME PROBLEM AS RULE 4 PART 1 ABOVE, again would appear to be a repetition of rule 4 part 1
4. Will do as much as is practical/possible to accommodate the customerās wishes and preferences
SEAN says :- It has been suggested that we insert the words IS PRACTICAL/IT MAY BE THAT THE CUSTOMER WISHES YOU TO REMOVE YOUR SHOES DUE TO CARPETS OR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS,THIS REQUEST MAY SEEM BY A CUSTOMER TO BE BOTH REASONABLE AND POSSIBLE BUT DUE TO H.S.E. RULES IT IS NOT PRACTICAL
JOHN SAYS :- What I do in this situation is to take off my shoes, walk through the house and put them back on before repairing appliance. You have got to do this in a lot of new build houses due to the state of the pavements and the bloody white carpets these pratts fit!!!!
CHRIS suggests that the rule should read :- Will do as much as possible to return the appliance to its manufacturers specification, whilst accommodating the customers wishes.
5. Contact numbers must be manned during office hours or an answering service made available, answering service also available out of office hours wherever possible.
JOHN SAYS :- I do not have an answering service and I am sure that there are a lot like me that donāt also. As it says above āwhere possibleā why bother to include this line.Sean sayās:- We have to be versatile enough to cater for all members, remember some of our members are one man bandās who do not have separate admin staff and so rely on answering machines. Therefore whether the member utilizes answering machines or not must be left up to the individual. The only thing we should do is state the minimum required level of monitoring periods if such devices are used as below in rule 6 part 2
6. Messages left by customers must be answered within 1 working day (all agree)
NB. My appollogies lads as i have tried to condense several e-mail and view point here

Hi Tim,
Fisrt of all check that the plug is out ! ( I know this is obvious but we have to keep stating it)
Check the point where your dishwasher joins the trap from your sink as the spout that it is connected to could be partially blocked.
If that seems ok then there could be a blockage in the empty pump.

PART 1
RULE 1)
1. To be courteous and professional at all times (all agree)
RULE 2)
2. To be presentable to the public and be clean and tidy both in appearance and in any work carried out (all agree)
RULE 3)
3. To be contactable by phone, fax and email
(the question was posed:- Is it necessary to include fax ?)
RULE 4)
4. To be honest and open with customers
( might this rule be taken to infer that members are not already both open and honest) A suggested alternative was :-
4. To communicate clearly and simply with the customer on all issues relating to the repair in hand
RULE 5)
5. To remain within the boundaries set by legislation at all times
A suggested alternative was :-
5. All works to be carried out in accordance to current UK Legislation.RULE 6)
6. Carry a minimum of 2 million pounds public liability insurance or 5 million pounds for members dealing with gas that are CORGI registered.
(all agree)

ModeratorRe: Integrated washer APM 8521 won’t spin
Hi David,
Does the machine empty the water within a minute and a half and
Does the empty hose from your machine connect to the u bend of the sink, by any chance ?
If it does it might be worth checking that there are no blockages at the point where the waste pipe connects to your plumbing. If all seems ok there, then the next thing to check is if it is a carbon brush type motor and if so are the brushes worn.

ModeratorRe: Hoover Performa 1100 doesn’t seem to fill up properly
One wash should be sufficeint for normal soiling, it’s just that the older machines that used to fill up to the bottom of the door glass, used to do a wash in about 40 minuets. where as the newer type ‘A’ rated machines usually take about an hour plus for a 40 degree mixed wash.
There are some new machines that are ‘A’ rated that claim to do a mixed 40 degree wash in 30 minutes but the only thing that they can do effectively is get the laundry wet ! lol

ModeratorRe: Zanussi FJ1033 bearing removal
Hi Probably,
Most of the guy’s remove the nut that you’ve just manhandled and use an old longer one they keep in their toolbox just for the job.
You will need to knock the shaft through with the aid of the bolt to remove the drum to get at the water seal and bearings. These are normally knocked out with a small chisel. Then clean out the bearing housing’s lightly grease, fit new bearings, water seal and drum shaft assemblyThen it’s just the whole job in reverse making sure you replace large rubber seal when refitting the two halfs of the out tub. By the sound of it you may also need a new pulley securing bolt.
A professional would then carry out a full portable appliance electrical saftey test before checking/testing the repair.

Most manufacturers today are producing machines with ‘A’ rated energy levels.
In effect this means that the machine uses far less water to wash the clothes. Invariably this means that the wash times take longer to achieve the same wash results.
You should get a slightly higer water level on the rinses.
If your machine ‘A’ rated then you will use a)less detergent b) less water c) less electricity
Sometimes people tend to use far too much detergent for these machines therefore it is a good idea to let it do a 90 0c wash once a month with very little detergent and some old towels in it to keep it free from any build up of residue. HTH.

ModeratorRe: CDSL
I have held back on here as most of you guy’s know on the subject of CDSL.
Kev, the general consensus of opinion in the war room is that Gary (The Bishop) Anuscough (I call him the bishop because he expect’s everyone to kiss his ring) sees himself as the the next head of service for CDSL.
He is obviousley out to set a few examples and does’nt particulally care who he steps on to drive that message home to CDSL’S network of service providers.Having just experienced his backstabbing methods myself, I can assure you that the minute you have a dissagreement he will be approaching other service providers in your area to take over your work, even as we speak.
The decission to use those service providers will obviousley be taken on the outcome and result of your meeting. He cares little if the quality of service matches that which CDSL. already enjoy in your area, as total domination and control over all and any disputes regarding terms and conditions is all that seems to interest him.
It is my opinion that it is his intention to use more smaller company’s so that he has a greater degree of control over them by providing the bulk of their work.
It has already been pointed out to me that although the number of contracts run by CDSL are increasing, the work volumes to existing service providers is not.
All of us in the past at some time or other have had serious diputes with work providers. On the odd occasion some of those disputes can even get a little heated but you should at the very least expect a little loyalty
especially when at one stage you were asked to support them in their hour of need.I’m affraid loyalty is a word that Gary has yet to include in his vocabulary.
I would strongley suggest that unless the guy’s in this war room can find a way to clip his wing’s, you will soon be faced with what can only be best described as …. ‘ SON OF TRUBSHAW ‘Sean

Hi Graham,
Sorry the lads have been a bit slow answering this one but as you say it sounds like the control module. We cant give you any more help without the full E/NR number (model) and it’s FD number(date code) to give you a part no for the module.
