Re: Merry Christmas to the WTA

Merry Christmas evryone and all the best for 2008. Maybe this will be the year that we start to make a difference to the trade we are all part of.

We have to make the effort this year to reach out to others and get them involved in what we are trying to do, not just the ones that are glued to their PC monitors.

If we can get enough onboard then together we will make a difference.

This will mean stepping outside of our comfort zones and reaching out to new potential comrades who will initially only see us as the competition.

That’s my wish for 2008 anyway.

Re: AEG 88070 open the tap

    Hi,

It is still worth turning off the tap that supplies the dishwasher and checking the filter in the end of the hose that is connected to it, to see if there is any crud blocking it. This can very often happen after the waterboard has been working on the water main.

Remeber that if the fault is due to a blocked hose filter you may well be charged for the call when the engineer calls, irrespective of it only being a few months old.

This would be because the fault may be external to the machine, and not the appliance itself.

    HTH.

Check the air pressure hose for small cracks or if it has been rubbing anywhere. Failing that you can only change the pressure switch itself.

Trouble is Jim if I take the time to use the spell checker, one of you educated t-wats has usually answered with what I was about to say first.
I see I even managed to get in before Ken this time. πŸ˜†

we engineers are only human, we know what u guys think of us, and that’s a shame

as you know, i do tell it as it is, i dont lie, im honest…

An Engineer is an Engineer, whether he works for himself or for a multi national no difference as far as I or the vast majority of members have shown here on UKW.

We all have our own individual difficulties but I would at least like to think that the independents who at the end of the day created this site for everyone in the trade. Treat every engineer with mutual respect and common curtsey, irrespective of who they work for .

However that does not necessarily mean to say that their employers should be held in such high regard.

Especially as it would most likey be a cold day in hell before any multi national or shed would create a help site for their customers or engineers with as much content and conviction as displayed here by the independents for theirs.

Don’t think so Lerch, I actually test each and every one that is sent back to us on the same machine in my workshop. As Ken say’s 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} test out ok under normal loads and your getting this straight from the organ grinder.

You are most welcome to come up here to Anglesey and test them out again yourself if you like.

Sometimes we just take what the customer say’s as gospel, as it just seems the easier option to assume a part is faulty rather than prove it.

A cracking couple of nights, a big thank you to Tracey for organising everything so well, not to mention Ken for diggin’ deep into his sporan for the saturday night.

The Loch Lomond side setting was stunning and the good company made the night go all too quickly, even if it was 4.30 a.m. before I hit the sack.

    A Merry Christmass to all

Isn’t that the whole point Martin you seem to be enjoying the freedom that you would deny others.

Now I personally didn’t comment on it in the main forums that was my choice but I respect having the choice either way. I dont always agree with everything I read on the site but I would rather we have that freedom rather than run every post through a board of censors or press officers first.

Why do you say that we can do what we like about your opinion when you know full well we would always defend any members right to state their point of view.

I might have held a different opinion had the post metioned not been both factually correct and true to my certain knowledge.

I think the main thrust of the post was that it is not exactly a level playing field for those competing for the D&G award plus it was high lighted that some of those winning such awards sometimes do so by nefarious and dubious means.

Can you really put your hand on your heart and say this isn’t so Alex.
The truth is still the truth. wether you choose to turn a blind eye to it or not, has to remain the choice of the indiviual here on UKW.

UKW is niether DASA nor the WTA.
