ModeratorI would go with the DI211DS as it is on the Smeg web site. As you say there is no discernable difference for the extra £80 odd pound. It could be that the DIA is being produced as a marketing aid for the big boys , ie if you can find this model cheaper elsewhere then………. chances are you won’t as it is only going to be the big players having it.

ModeratorIt has a completely sealed tub which is not available as a spare part so no need to have back up stock at a cost. It doesn’t instill any confidence in the product as a retailer when I see this. Spare parts and diagrams for it are here if you want to look.

ModeratorTrouble is you are very restricted as to what will go into that small space.
All refrigeration now has to have a flame retardent back so the chance of a fire is extremely small. I would see if there is anothe Beko available or if budget allows Liebherr may do one.

How can it be commercial use if they are using it in a residential home?
Domestic average use is 2-3 loads per week ,150 odd loads per year multiply by the average life of a washing machine nowadays of seven years equals 1050.Our OP is 20-25 per week!! So after 42 weeks of use the machine is effectively seven years old in terms of use. Would you as a manufacturer want to guarantee that domestic machine?
spaceship9876 wrote: Would it not be an option to transfer the machine via a vehicle to a residential address if it becomes faulty so they can pretend it is just a residential machine used by a large family?
Machines are getting clever and can display to the engineer how many cycles and which ones have been used most. Engineers are also very clever at spotting these sort of things as well.
A good article here explains usage very nicely.

Sadly both freestanding washers with this option are both out of stock with a lead time of 11-16 weeks. The five year guarantee will not cover commercial use. The poster needs approx 20-25 washes per week, the average domestic use being about three loads per week. When I have questioned the warranty with them in the past they have said no warranty on commercial use.
spaceship9876 wrote: Ebac machines have a 7yr warranty.
The Ebac guarantee is also only for domestic use.
Over the years more and more businesses are using domestic appliances due to the price of commercial products, manufactrurers have now got wise to this and have acted accordingly.

ModeratorThe Electrolux WE170P is a front load commercial appliance with a two year warranty but it does require a hot and cold fill. It could be worth investigating the option of a hot water feed. You could then look again at the Maytag and Whirlpool option.
The only other option I can see is to keep purchasing domestic appliances run them into the ground and buy another. I don’t altogether agree with this option as it’s too costly in the long run and not eco friendly.

ModeratorI have to admit I do not know anything about them, but if you are happy with the appliance type and service options after the guarantee then go for it.
Just check you have enough space as it’s much bigger than the usual washing machines.

ModeratorThe only machines that will cope with that use are the semi commercial Whirlpool top loading washing machines like this one . These are favoured by the Americans and Australians among others.
For = large 15kg load, quick washes circa 1 hour and will take a large duvet.
Against = no heater so you need to have hot water readily available and due to the large capacity you also need to have a two inch waste fitted.
Overall been around for a long time and in use in a multiple of settings.
