Hi fender62
Forum rules do not allow us to be able to advise on gas repairs I`m afraid. As this sticky explains. best course of action weould be to sek a Gas Safe engineer. You could try the find an engineer link in your original post.HTH 🙂

Hi
It`s a typical 70 : 30 split 1776mm high the widths are all the same the height may vary by a mil or two but it will still go. Most brands like Hotpoint and Neff etc produce suitable machines for your housing. The most important bit is getting it installed correctly.

ModeratorRe: Miele Warranty
Hi Jumpty
The “law” of the land so to speak has always been the 12 month warranty, the EU wide 2 year warranty was never adopted by the UK.
Miele among others do offer a two year warranty as long as the appliance has been registered with the underwriting insurer who I believe in this instance is still Domestic and General, who will then mail shot you with the normal extenended warranty offer. After all the extra year does cost so to speak and by offering you an extended warranty may claw back some of the underwriting.
You then get into the “six year rule”? This thread from Martins Money covers.
Yes Miele appliances are supposedly designed and tested for twenty years use but not “guaranteed to do so”. ATEOTD it comes down to use and care it gets.
The Sale of goods act is not one of the easiest acts to follow and it is very grey in some areas to say the least.
If your purchase was via the net then you also come into the distance selling rules which is yet another confusing area.

ModeratorRe: Tumble Dryer advice needed – reduced depth?
Hi SH
There is this Zanussi 5.4 kg condenser dryer, which is the only slim depth I know of. Otherwise you are looking at one of the compact 3kg vented ones like the White Knight 38AW vented dryer.

ModeratorRe: Are Siemens fridges and Freezers any good?
Liebherr are without question the best, some if not all Miele machines are Liebherr made. Next best would definately be the Siemens range, just depends on the budget really.

ModeratorRe: New Washer Dryer (or used) recommendations please…
Hi
Is a washer dryer an absolute must? Best to have two seperate machines if you can 😉
The modern washer dryers just don`t do what they say on the tin I’m afraid. The nearest you will get is the Miele which comes in at over a grand, next best would be the Bosch range and the Zanussi’s, after that eveything else. This article from our buying guide on washer dryers is a well worthwhile read.

Hi
White Knight are a good all round tumble dryer with a reasonable life span and good valur to repair. For something of a better build at a slightly higher price then the Zanussi range is always a good bet.
Whatever brand you go vented machines are much more reliable.

Hi Allan
Correct motor only, all other costs are down to the consumer after the two year warranty.
