sorry everyone, been unable to shake off a bad virus/infection so could not make it in the end. Reminds me as I was taken ill at last years meeting and did not want a repeat. Obviously a bad time of year for me these days.

no, not done the strip down yet. Was assuming the ring that flashed and the power board but the parts list is unclear and shows about 5 different pcbs in the box. I have quoted her best case scenario and worse case and if she still wants to proceed then I will take it a part. Looks very early smeg style range induction hob to me. Thanks for the info.

model number is not recognised but suspect it maybe a smeg made one? these will spin on dry if the load is measured to be too wet for drying, will often also go into a spin when empty testing the drier.

depends on how/ if they have set the water softener up. In general most are left on default setting however hard the water is as we all know nobody bother reading instructions any more. If its set for hardest water setting then your estimate is about right.

There is a protruding piece of plastic around 2inch high, near filters like use to be in the Bosch D/W with a sliding magnet, but can’t see anything inside it. !!
any advice would be welcome. Thanks Johnsounds pretty much as it should, proper fill starts after about 4 minutes of this.

The only useful part of a pat test is the earth bond test as it will pick up a poor earth connection which may only be one strand of a severed earth wire.
Miele heater element earth faults for example will never show on any insulation test as they are wired direct from the terminal block via a double pole relay.
