ModeratorRe: PAT tester damages Siemens dishwasher module?
assuming this the type with the mains lead plug at the rear? The mains filter is also part of the PCB on these and I am guessing that’s where the issue is.

kwatt wrote:I think what you may not be thinking on is the cost to run accounts. It does cost money to do so.
You have the cost of administering them in terms of the accountancy to maintain them, send statements, chase payments, deal with queries and all that stuff and that takes time. Where you’re paying staff to do all that it carries a cost burden.
Then there’s the cost of giving the credit which can prove more substantial again.
Just hypothetically let’s say whatever business has 100 accounts spending £100 a month, that’s a rolling credit liability of £10,000 on the books.
In spares, on trade margins, you’ll be doing well if there’s £1000 profit in that.
For probably less than half a wage you’ve got to maintain 100 accounts and fund them. Financially, that may well make no sense to continue with.
It’s not hard to see why any might look at it in that light and, discontinue accounts that are not profitable just in the same way anyone running a business would do, yourselves included I expect. As, you sure ain’t going to want to be losing money and, neither would Qualtex or anyone else.
K.May have been so 10 or more years ago but not now days. I am pretty sure no one here gets a posted out statement, they are auto generated on the web site, same for invoices or maybe stuffed in the box. Anyways, if you are not ordering anything then there is no costs at all to them. Data is just in a database costing nothing to maintain. I have hundreds, probably thousands of one off customers still in my database but its not costing me a penny to keep them there and if/when they do use us again I have their details on hand.
Its more than the cost of servicing the account going on with them…. see my earlier remark about those using the site to look up part numbers only and not ordering stuff. Did the guys who have been shut down do this a lot maybe?eastlmark

Are any of you WTA members? What’s that got to do with a business decision by Qualtex?
K.
Quite a lot seeing as they were/are active within the WTA to obviously attract some business knowing full well many members are one man bands with a small, to Qualtex eyes anyway, turnover. It still states “WTA member” on my invoices although the 5pm cut off benefit has long gone, its still even states that on my invoices.

timing seems odd too, chances are the next few weeks could be the busiest of the year, think they would have waited till Jan to turn away business like this.

ModeratorRe: Qualtex Account Closure
as a matter of interest, how much were those getting the letter spending with Qualtex? Interested to see how near I am to the cut.
Did any of you send stuff back regularly?
The only issue they may be unhappy about is those using their site to look stuff up on and once knowing the part number are going elsewhere to buy. Maybe they monitor the searches to actual buying ratio.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: LED lighting in kitchens ……
another thing I have noticed recently, the white light of led fridge bulbs seem to show up the ice on the evaporator far more than the old yellowed light bulbs. Have had several jobs where people have called us out for this ice build up they have never seen before.

were the brushes worn down? Is this the type with the brushes in a removable module on the back of the motor? If so have the pins located correctly into their sockets in the coils? Don’t want to state the obvious but is the belt tight?

ModeratorRe: Smeg induction hob error codes
E2 is a faulty temp sensor (built into the rings showing the error)
E6 is a faulty power board.Would tread carefully as maybe a faulty ring has blown the pcb.
I think that one uses 3 identical pcb’s .eastlmark

have to admit that Masterpart are not good at handling backorders…. even common stuff on just never seem to materialise. I cannot believe they have been out of stock of Bosch heat pumps (651956) for 2 months when everyone else has them…
