ModeratorRe: broken door – Sensordry APM 8620
yep very common problem that catches a lot out as they change the door handle/hook. the actual problem is the door rim needs changing. 421307743104 is the part number, I am sure the spare parts here at UKW can oblige.

Temperature range is -50 degrees to 280 degrees so it’s suitable for ovens and fridges. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=46033
Order code – N28BJ.Steve.
same one as I have (use it for tyre temperatures) if you read the instructions it states it will not be accurate on a reflective surface and if pointed at glass will read the temp inside rather than on the outside.

wont work on glass though, or stainless steel. The contactless ones need a dark, matt surface to read accuatly.

ModeratorRe: Vestel made machines
I would be all for a lower spec and price Asko machine, could it be anywhere near the current Ise 5 price though… We used to retail a 1200 sans outer door at around £550. Probably a bit pricey for the average Ise 5 customer.

ModeratorRe: GPRS Credit Card terminals
pretty sure you will be guaranteed payment if authorised unless there is a dispute. (ie its a stolen card). As we are generally in customers houses at the time then that is an unlikely situation. Electron/solo cards will only pay if there is enough in the account and that will be checked at time of authorisation. Other cards depend on their overdraft limit or credit limit for credit cards.
Whatever, its the safest way of taking payment.eastlmark

ModeratorRe: Oh Smeg! The Ovens gone off again!
It does have a cooling fan fitted to the top of the oven under the hob. Its either siezed or the device that initialises it is duff. Would suggest checking you can spin the fan by hand first to establish it is not siezed. Power off if removing any panel.

heater element is a favorite or you may have a leak and the water has got on something causing the trip. Need to remove the bottom panel under the door, if you have a leak the tray covering the base of the machine will have water in it. Makes sure you unplug before doing anything and if the fault is not obvious, you will need a test meter to establish the cause.

ModeratorRe: To all Smeg Techies
If its blown ie burnt out then yes look for a reason, if its just dead then its probably just the board, often the case when customers leave them switched on 24/7

ModeratorRe: To all Smeg Techies
asssuming its got power and its not the on off switch then it will be the module. £132.08 retail price before vat.
