    Re: Live hood??

Sorry Martin, I have not yet come across a hood tapped into the lighting circuit. they all have a ringmain socket into which they are plugged into and they generally come with mains lead attatched. It would then be simple to have a 3 core lead and earth the hood but this is not the case. And it doesnt solve my original problem of why 2 hoods repaired in the last 2 years for MFI had this condition and the other 92 didnt.
And as for sinks and radiators they are considered part of the earth ring and therefore need to be earthed for continuity of water pipe earthing, a hood has neither and therefore doesnt come under the same regulations.

754130918 is the rectangle shaped rubber ring
754130997 is called the upper spray gasket
761810109 is the plastic duct that mates up to it.
All smeg numbers by the way

yeah, dodgy commutator, comes with a complete wiring loom! have fun. BTW the top comes off to check that, (assuming its a gas top) dont need to pull out to get to controls.

You need to check he switch on the alternating valve which are the 2 connections that are not the motor ones. the switch should open and then close again after about a second. (or the other way around, sorry I cannot remember which, whatever, its state should change briefly) Jiust listening to it click is not good enough as I have have shorted contacts in the past. I have never yet had a E 8 board fault.

keithwilliams wrote:yes i think it should be connected to the earth loop. after all my kitchen sink didn’t have a three or two core cable supplying it (ha ha) but it should still be bonding to the building earth.

But your sink is not an electrical appliance is it.
If they should be earthed, then why not supply them earthed with a 3 core cable? Believe me there is not even a earth point to attatch an earth to.

Philco used to market a heavy duty machine that in those days boasted a 13lb load when no one else did. came with a semi com warranty and sold with a big profit margin. For us anyway it was a good seller for hairdressers, B&B’s etc.
As for your one Ken, would it be Swedish?

ahh, ok its been many a years since we have used vouchers. Having said that though, cheques are still the most popular way of paying (about 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}) and there is no way we could say we dont accept them, yet.

    Re: GPRS Credit Card terminals

could you not have done that on your old, wired terminal Martin? Ours always did and last year they added the securtiy number on the rear and have to key in the post code for added security, a feature our mobile terminal still hasnt caught up with for some reason.
