thanks, defo not a detergent issue. Machine is empty. Have read about the hall issue and will investigate it. Customer is persuing warranty claims – bought machine on net, no paperwork, no idea who from and when….only spent £900 on it as well. Will probably quote for pcb and motor windings and see how he responds.
Very odd machine to work on this one….. outer tub is fixed and inner drum suspended inside….

oh yes, saw him supporting the Ramones back in…. god knows 1979 maybe? Probably more famous though as the guitarist in the Human League… a band that traditionally were an electronic band that did not have a guitar at all… listen to “the Lebanon”
http://youtu.be/QEsRYkRpySY to understand. Top bloke and I for one am envious of you Ally… all I get is Kenny Ball (rip-another customer lost!) and the Bass palayer in the worse line up of the Damned!

does this one not have a clock transformer remote to the clock? should not have 240 present at clock if so!
Clock relay controls all oven/grill functions. Simply short out the clock relay terminals to check. If clock complteley dead then most likely the transformer has gone rather than the clock- been caught out with these in the past and its an expensive mistake. transformer is only £23 (818890060) but may also need cable (821290622) as the connections have changed. If only clock display dead (play about with the buttons to see if you can blindly set the clock) then look for broken solder joints on the pins from the display to the pcb- usually can be re soldered if careful.

on my 4th Traffic, nought but regular servicing on any of them and I regularly tow a race car trailer behind it. (when not working).
Must admit new Transit looks a bit girly.

There is another pressure switch on wash pump. Could that be problem.

    Mike

no, this switch only brings the heater on when the wash pump pressure is correct. Normally get a inlet/drain light on if there is a problem with filling.

just use yr mole grips on it, a bit of leverage will snap it off. serves no purpose and hole will be covered by motor plate.

    Re: Bosch dw heat pumps

yes had clip with my one, its the same narrow clip as fitted on the previous range. No wiring change on my one though?
On the whole, an easier strip down than before as the meetering tank/air break stays on the tub rather than being left behind. They have also dispensed with some screws favoring bending tabs of stainless at the rear instead!
Mind you, if you can change the wash pump without a strip down there is probably never any reason to do one.
Pump/heater etc is crap but good value for money at £80 or so for what would have been £250 odd for the same parts (heater/pump/motor)on the previous range. could be good for business too as they dont look too reliable and the total repair cost is realistic.

Thanks, was going to have a go from the side but was unsure if there was another clip on the front of the pump or not. It was only when I stripped it I realised it may be possibe.
Only took twice as long to strip it anyhow and a good learning exercise.

And where exactly can we buy these? All miele pattern seals i have tried lately dont fit that description at all.
