is that the voice of experience Martin or just a suggestion? Those cutting discs dont like the plastic when it melts. I broke about 5 discs centres out using one of these and gave up when I ran out of discs. Used my air cutter back at the workshop instead but one slip and your are through the tub.
I too wondered about the giant pair of cutters shown on the tech sheet. My largest side cutters barely scratched the surface of what is very thick and tough plastic.
If anyone needs a rear tub cw bearings part number: 236013 I have one going cheap to clear.

its only the new ones that are faulty. replacement arm is strengthened.

I had a play on it and yes, you are right Martin that I had to cut off the clips.

have to ask how you cut off the tabs? Its not as easy as it sounds as there is no room for a hacksaw and the plastic is too thick for stanley knifes.

bottom spray arm split is the usual culprit. Too heavy is a load of nonsence. Sometimes get circ pumps leaking occasionally, very difficult to trace if so but if I get repeated failures like this and the spray arm has been changed, then I bung a pump in and dont usually hear from it again.

    Re: Smeg SUK91MFA5 Cooker

its a relay pcb to control the high power fan elements hence allowing the thermostat on the control panel to handle only a low current. part number is 811650197. The best way to check it is to connect a volt meter to the 2 wires between the relays and check you are getting 230v there when the thermostat is turned up, if so, and you cannot hear the relays click then it will be the problem. On some SUK91 this pcb only switches the fan elements while on others it switches all elements.

if its normal candy stuff then its the small screws in the side of the door that need to come out then I think its an outward and upward lift of the door panel as its hooked in. Usually acompanied by cracking plastic noises.

SUK 92? Dont need to disconnect gas anywhere but the hob top needs to come off which means undoing all the screws around each burner and carefully releasing each burner from the stainless top ( a gentle push on each). Supposed to change all the gaskets underneath when doing this but, so I have been told by my gas safe contractor, most engineers will not bother. Quite an easy job, I have been told.

couple of months is a long time, anything could have happened. Look at the heater plug as these often melt internaly prodcuing a smell and finally no heat. if not then obviously heater itself or pcb.

appleelectrics wrote:that’s what I thought but no water in base, float switch etc all ok

possibly feet not wound down and machine resing on base causing spurious float switch operation. Begs the question why manufacturers always supply stuff with the feet wound so tightly in that you need mole grips to release them. Most dishwashers I pull out these days are resting on their base with he feet hanging uselesly in mid air.
Think this one might have a pressure operated float as well which means an overfill can cause an E1 without actual leakage occuring.

no bands showing in the pic……. the inner band is originaly a spring one while the one that comes with the gen seal is a screw type, might indicate a struggle without one.

Tuesday….Routing a cabinet door in the workshop, phone rings. Answered it and let the other end know I’d call back in 10 minutes as I didn’t have the book with me. Fine. Rings him back on finishing and he says Oh I’ve rung (competitors name) now, I don’t need you. Says more about him I know, mentioning somebody else’s name FFS.
Then today a woman calls at 8.45am. Let her know I was just going out on the school run and she was fine. Called her back 20 minutes later and she’s rung someone else 😈 .

Hope this isn’t a new trend cos I’ve just about had it with the great british public at the moment 😥

might have been better not to answer the phone if you were on the way out….. does not exactly portray a proffesional image. Had she not got a reply she wopuld have assumed you dont open till 9 and called back.

Thanks, but would this be accompanied by the sound like the motor is loose or jammed? (its niether by the way, just sounds like it)
