ModeratorRe: Eastenders – albert square
back in the 80’s I did a service call for the Stratford Co op in Albert square, it was a Candy Turbo 21 (or 20 maybe). It was the real Albert Sqaure just near Maryland Station and yes there is a queen vic there as well although I hear the pub changed its name to match the tv show rather than the show being based on it. and before anyone asks, no I dont watch it!

ModeratorRe: Miele W806
Filters on Miele are a big weak spot. there is I think a seal kit for this which comes with some white grease to lube the seals. Assuming no one has been digging around in there and damaged the face of the housing, it can only be the seals.

how old is this machine? It could be stuck on an error code. I had one that initially showed an error code to the customer but this then went but the machine was locked with 2 of the lights on. I cancelled the error following martins instructions, do a search! forgive me if its a totally different model altogether.

had something similar myself, feed to the pcb so soldered up a few suspect joints around the rotary switch and it seemed to work……cust reported same again a few days later so have to assume pcb which was horrendously pricey and deemed it BER

hope your not too exposed there Ken, saw this coming when payments starting taking months a year/18 months ago and put them on a pay upfront basis then….funny enough didnt get too much work from them from that point.
Shame, was once a good company to work for.eastlmark

well Lawrence, just invest in the proper tool if a bit of chain is not up to your standards 😀
that looks a expensive bit of kit! I usually manage with a length of wire, grips and brute force, I like the bar and chain idea tho 😉
should imagine it is pricy and its what they use in the factory on the production line where health and safey rules apply….unlike us in someones kitchen with a 3 year old child and a dog around your feet while we are sweating and pulling muscles with a metal bar and chains!eastlmark

Fiddler, can you please check the dates of some of the posts you are replying to, some are way out of date and restarting them cause confusion.

cannot say for certain whether your model is the same, but some dedietrchs have a seperate door microswitch wired in circuit with the heater, dont ask me why but worth a check.

ModeratorRe: Smeg D1612A1 built in (D/W)
sorry I missed this one.
Look inside near the door seal on each side, about 3/4 way up there should be 2 plastic plugs that fill a hole in the stainless steel that is used for screwing the unit into the housing from the side (very rarley ever used for that purpose.) remove the plugs to leave just the hole. It may help to fit the springs upside down, it wont make any difference to the working of it, as there is a loop in the spring a few centremeters below the hook. SO, insert a long and strong screwdiver through the loop in the spring and then into the exposed hole. Make sure the spring adjusters (if fitted) are backed off to the lowest setting and it may help to tape these in position to stop them moving at the critical time. You should then be able to lever the spring up and into place. Wear work gloves mind and it is not easy but I have done many this way without problem. -
