Appliance care Harlow are a very long established indy, they started around the same time as us in the 70’s and based in Harlow, The photo is of the rear of their premesis which is a shop in small shopping mall. The Proprietor or one partner at any rate died about 5 years ago. We dont have much to do with them and have a friendly respect for each other, drivers usually wave as we pass but thats about it. They were a very big LEC agent once and I guess loosing that hurt them. They are an AMICA dealer however as most of the Amica jobs I have had in Harlow are their sales. This is the first I have heard about a training acadamy however and can shed no further light on the subject.

actually none and its very rare i have been bothered at home. The only time I worry is when we have a dispute with a customer or send threatening letters for non payment and for CCJ’s you have to use your real address so the person you are claiming from has it and that sometimes worries me given the low life we occasionally have to deal with.
Mind you, just had a quick look again now and it seems I am not there anymore….

fine for those with shops but mine is my house and appeared on google maps and earth a couple of years ago, god knows how.

dont order a pressure switch, never known one to fail. Can you clarify which lights are on/ flashing. “2nd and end” could mean anything.

its marked as having a hot valve and cold valve on the exploded….. they also list an adaptor, cold fill C00149454(a Y piece in any other language) so I guess it needs a feed to both, not seen one of these in years.

IME tacho’s rarely fail, would just check for continuity from the plug on the module. Could be the module relay/fuse issue discussed recently.

as ever with smeg, check all the things you can for earth leaks, however small and suspect the pcb if nothing found. Probably will have an impellor jug thing built into the air break, may or may not be connected….would expect an error code if it were faulty though.

All joking aside there was always something really odd about Haverhill ,it seemed to have an identity crisis …well, we covered Haverhill for MFI and oddly had very few issues with customers and found them very easy to book appointments as they all were always in. No “well I am here until 9 then back at 11.30, going out at 12….blah blah” nonsence. I guess there was not much work around for anyone to do and most had moved from London in search of cheap property. Last time I parked in the town centre the pay and display rate was 20p for an 3 hours!
Now days its only the odd smeg job or chargeable MFI we do there and to tell the truth its a pain to drive out there. Also, the road from the A 11 is littered with memorials for dead accident victims, scary!
This customer was a Currys customer, we used to have similar problems in Philco days with curry’s customers so I guess that is the common denominatorRe: Smeg in a council house!

not exactly but obviously their biggest ever purchase and have expectations way beyond what a basic cuccina dishwasher can provide and do not have the inteligence to understand the concept of a start button! Have been verbally abusive to my telephone staff and me, accused me of wasting their time and that they had better things to do (like what exactly I was eager to ask?) than wait for me to turn up. like I dont have better things to do than sit on their filthy kitchen floor for hours, not getting paid as its a no fault found and have as much chance of them paying me as Arsenal have of winning a trophy. 😈 😈
