oh no! when I try to order I get the dreaded:
Regretfully part number 644575 is no longer available, please delete this part number to continue with your order

ModeratorRe: HELP! any BSH guys out there?
thanks so much Don, it is infact a matt silver rather than Chrome so it may be correct, only issue is that BSH only have it available to order. Machine is in a cupboard so customer is not bothered about finish especially when I tell her the cost of the complete door.

in much the same boat here as well, this one is a fancy looking Siemens version, model WM16S494gb16 only shown as complete door, part number 704288 on BSH site. Can Don, or anyone else conjure up a part number for a handle for this one? Do I really have to charge a customer £91 + my charge, for a door handle repair?
thanks in advance.eastlmark

ModeratorRe: The Stig
OK, Not blowing my own trumpet, and I still dont watch the show anyway, but I was right in 2007 and today, by chance I found out who the new Stig is. Whats more I just repaired his mums dishwasher! (a Brandt if its important).
Of course I have been sworn to secrecy and would loose value customer where I to blurt it out.
All I will say is, like the previous one, he is not a houshold name and if named most would not have heard of him anyway.eastlmark

closet ‘banger then Jim?
someone there has way too much time on their hands, did expect to find some laughable errors but have failed to find any. A interesting though pointless site.

ModeratorRe: Smeg UKST45 Dishwasher pump
uni pump motor should fit, maybe usual socket to wire tags needed.
As for reset, cannot picture this one in my head, but the usual way is to hold a start button (or prog select if it only has the one) down, or turn off at the mains and select a different program. Failing that, press start or prog select button 4 times at switch on before the lights come on and then swtich off again.eastlmark

Electronics as a hobby is fine and I must admit I found the recent Miele power board fuse and relay thread interesting as I have puzzled over those no drum action faults for many years.
Hi Mark
Can you post the link to this Miele thread please.
Laurence
took me ages to find it!

ModeratorRe: ISE 10 CD 601W
take the cover of the fan, its just next to the condenser once the bottom panel is off, just one screw. Chances are the fan is full of flea ridden dog hairs.
there is a manual reset (I think) stat on the heater, might have to dismantle the backplate to get to it though.eastlmark

….get all angry with me when I suggest that maybe they should have had the intelligence to not use their cooker when they know we are just about to turn up to repair it.

ModeratorRe: Diplomat ACA 9102 slimline dishwasher
lovely bit of Chinese quality there John. Will be the diverter valve thingy that is part of the wash pump. New pump req or you may be able to remove the ball in the valve. either way, dont forget to order 3 (or 4?) hose clips for it as well.

maltheviking wrote:Customer rings up the other day to have her washer fixed. Usual question “can you give me a time?” I usually reply, are you going out? she replies, yes in the morning until about 1 oclock.
OK I will put you down for a PM call sometime after 2 oclock is that OK? yes she replies I will be in all afternoon.
I arrived at 3.30 to find she is out (15 miles travelling).
When I get home there is a message on my answerphone, “sorry we waited to 3PM we are now going to pick the kids up and are going away for the weekend”.
She rings up on Monday and says sorry but you were coming at 2PM. I reminded her that she was not going out that afternoon and I never give a precise time. Can you come back she said ? so I said yes but you will be charged extra for the waisted journey, her reply, dont bother I will get some one else
My invoice is in the post, though I doubt I will ever see it.By the way, single mum with boyfriend on tow
this is almost a daily occurrence, no matter how much you stress the point on the phone, the customer will only hear what they want to hear and when you stress the point that we have “never given an exact arrival time in over 20 years, why then would we start now with you” no doubt the usual response is that you are calling them a liar.
Sometimes I wish we recorded every booking and could download the recording onto our smart phone and can instantly play it back to the customer on their doorstep or wherever when we are accused of being late. No doubt possible but worth the hassle just to see their faces before they slam the door in mine.I banned the use of “after” when taking bookings and instead offer “between 2 and 6” or whatever but even that does not get through to many of the thicko’s out there.

It’s quite worrying that after attending a few of these jobs in the past. Thankfully some of these repairs were too costly to put right and it became BER. Did them a favour in some respect.
going a bit OTT there twicknix, just the sort of hysteria that these sort of recalls prompt.
Bosch must love Beko though, all that national news their re call has prompted yet Bosch have gone completely under the radar, not even the merest hint! Me thinks the London fire brigade are responsible for promoting their one, no doubt one of the top brass there has a Beko product. 😉
