β€œI don’t think Candy is doing enough to alert people. I bought mine at Comet for Β£200, so others here must have bought the same model.

Re: call out / labour fee phone speech ??

I quote a fixed fee labour rate based on postcode and type of appliance starting at Β£40 for closest jobs where there is a lot of local competition and up to Β£90 for more distant jobs but any more distant calls I would be more expensive than manufacturer service and I advise accordingly.

I took a call last week from woman last week who explained the faulty appliance in great detail and asked advice.

I told her that she would need a visit to diagnose fault and she asked the usual “Do you have a callout charge?”.

No says I its a fixed rate labour charge which covers the cost of the repair including a second visit to fit spares but not cost of spares.

“But what if its not worth mending?”

Its a fixed rate charge says I

“You’re a rip off merchant” and hung up.

Good job I didn’t tell her I was laid out on a sunbed at a 5 star hotel in Gran Canaria when I took the call 😈

    Cheers,

    Eddie.

    RS don’t charge me carriage.

    I just got an invoice for a pack of 10 resistors @ 6.4p each + VAT @ 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.

Invoice total 77p delivered next day by Parcel Force in a nice padded envelope.

Not worth getting the bus to Maplins. πŸ˜€

I did very well out of the cold snap.

Numerous frozen/burst inlet valves pumps etc and sold a couple of new machines that I wouldnt normally have.

Bring on the next one 😈

To avoid confusion the switch under the front display turns on a heater inside the dispenser area to stop condensation forming and does not control ice production.

Start switch/relay is easy enough to test then its out with the test equipment and circuit drawing.

Simple machine to repair but spares are way overpriced

Start relay is in the start switch.
There should be a circuit drawing tucked under the control panel.
