this is the sensor, if you follow the instructions earlier in the thread, you’ll see where it goes.

    cheers.

    Re: Liebherr fridge F2 fault.

hello, the backplate is inside the fridge.
take all the shelves out and the divider. you’ll see little clips at the side of the backplate. lift these out.
there may also be two T15 torx screws holding the backplate in.
when you pull it out, be careful as the air and bio fresh sensors are still connected to it, as is the fan cable.
disconnect all these and pull out the backplate completely. this will reveal the evaporator.
give the retaining srews at the bottom a quarter of a turn and ease the evaporator forward enough so you can feel where the evap sensor is located and pull it out..
in the kit you will receive are all the instructions. be sure to join the cable OUTSIDE the cabinet at the back and not inside.
tools you will need are T15 torx driver, large flat blade s/d, side cutters and pliers alongside a 7mm socket to partially remove the condenser grill at the back. (this where you join the cables).
    cheers.

Re: RLA80 Hotpoint is freezing. Thought it was stat, but??

if the stat that was on the fridge is original (i.e. 23 years old) then theres always a possibilty that its switched differently. not all stats are the same.
the stat is just a switch that switches the live feed to the compressor through two of the terminals.
terminals are numbered normally 3.4 and 6 with switching usually between 3 and 4 or 6 and 4, depending on the stat.

all that said, if the icing on the evaporator is localised, more at the top, or one side, then it looks like you may have a system fault, which is understandable after 23 years.

    or it’s been wired incorrectly?

are the lumps of ice ALL the way down the back, or mainly concentrated in one corner or one side?

    Re: Capacitors

    the capacitors themselves have a tolerence value, normally +/- 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}

taking this into account, your 12.5 uf cap could be just under 12 or just over 13, whereas your 10 could be 10.5.
i wouldn’t have thought you were far out with what you’ve done.

    Re: Liebherr fridge F2 fault.

hi mate, on your fridge there should be three sensors:-

a fridge air sensor, which should have a red tag on it, a bio fresh sensor, which should have a brown tag on it and a fridge evaporator sensor, which should have a green tag on it.

pulling the backplate away carefully (remove the fan connector) will reveal the evaporator.
the sensor will be tucked into a pocket at the bottom of it and the cable will run through a hole in the cabinet behind the evaporator and up to a connector on the pcb.
the sensor you receive is a kit which means you cut the cable and join the new one. full instructions are in the pack.

    cheers.

    Re: Liebherr fridge F2 fault.

hello, just to clear things up here,

F2 = fridge evaporator sensor fault.

the part number that ken supplied you with is the correct part for the sensor repair kit that fits this model.

this part should repair the appliance.

    cheers.

hi steven, there are quite a few different models under that number. you’d need the art number to fully identify the part.

    cheers.

    Re: Admiral GC2224GEKB not defrosting

hello kez, the compressor shouldn’t be a problem.
you’ve changed the board, so i’d be looking at the defrost stat.

    cheers.
