    Re: samsung WD8704 pump problem

no is there a procedure for that ?

would not have thought it would have been relevant on the spin programme but then electronic machines can be silly.
anyone got any tech info ?

“but stops at specific points in each cycle…..and i nudge the timer control on 1 notch and the machine jumps back into life”

depends where in the cycle it does this. If its trying to heat and cant due to element failure it will do the same thing.
Some early indesits do nothing while heating till a certain temp is reached

    there are only 2 answers

1 replace the clock if available

2 most (but not all) clocks can be bypassed

it does sound like a pcb fault

disconnect all the wires to the from pcb apart from the mains.
if it lights when you turn it on then it may be external

if it does not light then the only fault you can cure on the pcb power supply. open the board and look for the chip and look for a blown low ohm resistor normally 50 to 100 ohms

Re: Indesit idc85 tumble dryer help

all you need is a multi meter that buzzes when you touch the leads together. touch both stat terminal with the wires off. if it buzzes its ok

my money is on the timer. there is a heater contact in the timer that can fail but everything else will work
    but
its going to get expensive if you keep swapping parts to find the fault

Re: Indesit idc85 tumble dryer help

the safety switch is part of the heater and if you have changed that it will be ok

one long shot make sure you turn the timer on to about 30 mins or more as the last 10 mins does not heat

if that fails then it maybe
    Timer
    front thermostat
and from memory i think the tank full switch affects the heat on some dryers

I am assuming you have found a replacement timer

you should have taken photographs before you started
i would not have taken any wires off but brought the 2 timers closer together and move 1 wire at a time very carefully
doing what you have done is more likely to lead to mistakes as some wiring colours are close

thing you can try first is take out the board and power it up on the bench. it will light up see if it goes off if you leave it on

sound like a board power supply fault
the chips on the board can go faulty and i have had this sort of a fault. if your confident about soldering find the chip and replace. they are not expensive

this is a self defrosting unit which still can get frozen up

before you try anything switch it off open the doors and leave it for about 2 days. Then switch back on again and see what happens
