since I do not know the model I cannot be specific but

you mention a display (clock) the clock may have an automatic off position and needs to be set to manual to work

Re: I need a compact wet and dry vacuum cleaner.

this post flags up a few problems for me

1 a wet and dry cleaner cannot do both at the same time. if you set it up dry the unit uses filters or bags to catch the dust. if you set it up wet you remove the filters as the water stops the dust and the filters would get wet and water would get into the motor

2 from reading your post it seem you want it to handle wet just in case you children spill something so no that wont work

also you state 6 gallons, that’s a lot so it would be a big unit

Re: Siemens Siwamat 2460,water comes but the drum does not t

without a model number I cant check but in most cases of drum no turn problems the motor brushes have worn out.
some more modern machines don’t have brushes but if it has it should be an easy fix

to be honest joke hotpoint. now whirlpool have taken them over it we will see if thing improve but I doubt it

quite often the dearer machines can have bearing changes

Miele can be done but they don’t go that often
some Bosch machine ( you can check here http://shop.bshappliancecare.com/ if you have the Enr of the machine you can get a breakdown and see if it splits

    LG can also be done
