    Re: Washing machine advice

the miele will outlast the bosch do a google search on miele you will find the reveiws. They are quiet and dependable. there are very few manufacturers that design machine to last over 10 years but miele is one of them. 15 year old miele’s are common

went to a miele last week household has 5 adults machine 12 years old first fault brushes gone through wear and tear

look around there are other models of miele and sometimes they offer extended warrentys with them like

got a miele myself and i have the pick of anything

out of ideas now assume it gets to rinse and wont pump out or spin.

have also assumed you have checked for blockages in outlet and sump hose etc and for a failing pump (have you checked to see if the pump coil is overheating some have cut outs ?)

when its empty does it spin then

it does sound like a power supply problem which may be fixable but if you have to buy a new noe then yes i would be sitting down.

there is a firm that repairs some of these boards

    http://www.qer.biz/

    you could try asking

    so 50 degree wash

pump runs, then fills (all the way or just a bit?)
it then tumbles but does it heat ?

does sound a bit like a timer prob. have been looking for a picture of the panel but cant find one

sound like a power supply fault on the main control board

you say it takes a long time to do the cycle. if this is the fault its a miricle it even gets into the cycle

first check the wire that goes between the panel and the main pcb. its very likely you have disturbed the connection one end or the other. also check there is power coming in. would not be the first time a customer was going to scrap a machine for a faulty socket

from what i can see this is a smeg built unit. finding the valve is easy its screwed onto the end of the water pipe from the tap. cant think how to remove it off hand but most dishwasher allow the sides to be removed for access or there may be a panel underneath you can get at it

    go here

    http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/spareparts/search

put in your Enr and you will find pictures that may help

a lot of doors are clipped together with the odd screw so should be straight forward

    info is a bit confusing

in post you say it wont do any other programmes which sounds like it does some. if so which ?

if it wont go at all then my first look would be heater, brushes and door lock

    Re: Washing machine advice

from my point of veiw i would go for either

    http://ao.com/product/WAE28461GB-Bosch- … 27063.aspx

    or

    http://ao.com/product/WDA100-Miele-Wash … 29725.aspx

the bosch machine is not the cheapest but as with most manufacturers they cut corners on cheaper machines
the miele is dearer but in a class of its own. miele units are the only machines where i need help to deliver them because of weight

    hope it helps

    Dave
both machines carry 2 years warrenty

    Re: Hoover VT 816D22

from what i can see the whole front board is not that expensive
    part no 41035005
    but
it depends on what you mean about wont power up

    do you mean
A no light or power at all
B has light but wont start programme

if it A then this front panel is only a slave board and the is a link between the 2 boards. make sure the wire is secure at both ends
if it B then it could be just the front board if you have made a mess of the switch

if the heater is glowing am I to assume you are running it with the back open. if so its normal it will it needs to be enclosed to work.
you problem must be down to air flow. check fan, filter, and especially condensor (make sure you can see right through it front to back)

a lot of dishwasher have a float in the base to detect leaks. if a leak is detected it starts the pump and it wont stop
not sure if yours has but it worth a look
