Re: Zanussi oven zdq595x – temperature knob

having a quick look on my lux disc and your description am at a bit of a loss what you mean

you say the knob had burnt but then you say it has a probe so is it a knob or a thermostat?

i can find 3 variants of this model and without the pnc number and an accurate description its hard to know what the part differences are

what part number did you fit and what is zanussi’s description of it ?

    Re: Smeg pcb problem?

from what you describe it sounds just like an E2 fault

from our fault bible there are about 12 reasons why this fault will show only 1 of which is the pcb

you engineer needs to check the lot otherwise a new board will not cure it

sound like it needs to be looked at by someone who knows these machines

    Re: Smeg pcb problem?

sounds like a power supply problem to the board not a job you can do unless you are into electronics but if you can find an engineer who subscibes to this board one of us can talk him through it
the fault presents like low batterys. it has power to do small thing but as soon as something bigger is needed like starting the main pump motor the computer on the board crashes

bear in mind i am only guessing without seeing the fault for myself

    hope this helps

    Re: Coughing Dishwasher

depends what you mean by coughing noise

had a few whirlpools start and stop filling ie water valve opens then closes then opens and closes etc giving a cough like sound
was capacitor power supply on prog board

if its the american top loader the model is on a plate inside the lid. if you lift lid and look at the back on the case there is normally a label stuck on the meatalwork angled at about 30 degrees

    found it

broken wire in door dont know why it gives an unknown fault code
cant see what it feeds without removing machine as wire goes to back of machine

another weird fault for the books

not quite sure what you are doing but though i would add this comment
in the old days ie Hotpoint WM52 62 etc if you bridged the door lock machine would just run but with electronic control this does not work
the board is expecting the lock to be open circuit at initial switch on and therefore will not set programme properly. to make it work you have to set and start programme and then short door lock within about 15 secs

    hope this helps

    well gave up on Vax
useless company. was a service agent for years. in the early days we got all the manuals before a machine was sold but in the end we got nothing. the service web page was hit and miss and even Vax had a hard time finding out which models had spares available and which did not. got so many complaints from customers waiting for spares that never came. vax helpline used to send customers to us with machines where no spares were available to fix
absolute shambles and it says something when vax has to print on their machines do not take back to the shop when the retailer is liable
    result avoid like the plague

Re: miele T490 tumble Dryer no heat

its unlikely the senasor brushes are causing your problem. noise from brushes usually come from the frame catcing a screw as the drum turns
first check all ntc if you cant get enough damp material inside drum you can put a bit of damp cloth between the two brushes
lastly if all this fails check relays on pcb

    Re: SIMPLE PCB REPAIR TIPS

just thought i would add these two faults to this post

miele auto late series similar to w1514

this is the one the board is shaped around the door

    two faults

    fault one

machine switches on you can set a programme and machine switches on but goes into fault mode after about 30 secs. upon inspection the motor on the soap draw was running constantly. when i took the motor unit to bits i found condensation had formed a carbon track on the pcb that had blown a 150 ohm resistor just to the right of the display next to a plus sign on the board
cleaned soap draw pcb and applied paint to insulate replaced resistor machine ok
Total repair cost under £10. miele had quoted £280 for a new board but they would have got a shock when the new board went faulty due to the soap draw fault

    Fault 2

    same board.
fault switch machine on and set programme. machine starts ok but at varying times programme display goes blank on machine switches off.
Upon inspection I found the 5v supply to the chips was falling and when it go down to about 3v the board died through lack of power. 5V reg chip is situated just below the door open push button on the board numbered KF50. ordered new chip and replaced board ok total repair cost £1.74

    hope this helps
