Moderatortry using the 3d hot air setting which only uses the rear element
it will cook things faster and often you can lower the cooking temp

Moderatorlet us have the full Enr number so we can see what you have
you have given HBS534B but there are more letters followed by 2 extra numbers. you have to look on the rating plate around the oven door
your looking for something like HBS534BB0B/02

Moderatorcan see from manuals what energises the pump
if it was my job I would check the board and trace the wires back to the board to see if the pump is supplied by a relay or a triac and check if that component short circuit
from what i can see the pump connects to the board on terminals 2 and 4 of connector CN5

Moderatorgot to be a board problem
check relay first if ok look to see if there is any damage that might link tracks together and fire up both at the same time

Moderatoras i said you have a flue in a gas oven. you will lose far more heat out of the flue than anywhere else. if the spacers do make it less efficient its likely to be small compared to the loss up the flue

ModeratorI doubt the lack of insulation will cause any problem as with gas ovens you need a flue for the exhaust gases.
you dont have that with electric ovens and you can often turn them off early and they retain the heat longerbut gas is a lot cheaper than electric so it probably evens out. the only other negative with gas is the moisture produced burning the gas which can cause damp in homes if not vented

Moderatorthats a gen part only

you could put an 8uF in to make it cheaper
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/g873197as-washing-machine-tumble-dryer-dishwasher-8uf-capacitor
should work almost as well. well enough so you would not notice

Moderatorthere are different values depending on motor fitted
you can either let us have the complete set of numbers off the rating plate or take the side off and check value
common one is 7uF but could be 8 you would need to check

ModeratorNathandelabrum wrote:Can’. If the hose had become slightly disconnected would we be smelling gas by now?
maybe not. since the gas is flowing it means the gas hose is in enough to open the gas valve. The pipe is deigned to seal before opening the valve to let the gas flow, so its possible to not have it locked in properly but get partial gas flow
let hope he can spot the problem
assume all other gas applances are working ok
