Moderatorwell the element was causing some problem last time but cant think how you can damage a seal
all i can suggest is you get the customer to pay for the seal as you cant continue to fund it plus maybe order it direct from hoover so you can complain at them when it fails

then if you dig around the directors they have a few companies doing this
if i were you be careful
work on a cash up front basis and charge more than normal as you have paperwork to fill in for them. insist on making a decent profit on parts too dont let any of them know what you paid for parts
so many vof these companies and it can be a pain getting paid

Moderatorfirst thing i think i would check is the relays on the board. If the one that controls temperature is welded closed it will cause this fault

if you set it at the lowest temp does it still overheat massivly

Moderatoryou have a leak you dont need a manual
run machine and look undeneath for drips
depending on where those drips come from will determine what comes next

Moderatorfirst off remove kick strip and outer wooden door
then remove cover below door and see if water is in there. if yes mop out and run unit and see if you can see any drips using a torch

Moderatorwhen you sponged out the water was is from inside by opening door or underneath where the motor is
there is a float down underneath that keeps the pump running if there is water down there. you may just have a leak thats causing your problems
