    sound like a compressor seizure.
as its 18 months old i look on the fact its a built in so you will be paying £500 to replace it.
Cost of replacing compressor £200 as its 18 months old in my opinion its worth replacing compressor if anything else goes scrap it.

have you checked the starting capacitor for the motor.

If it doesnt hold its charge the motor will have problems in reliable turning

When i was at eac this question came up.
The answer is ask the customer to disconnect qand reconnect the bayonet you are not then responsible for the gas supply and installation as long as you dont touch any gas joints.

Its the same wierd regs as you can repair you own gas cooker but you are breaking the law if you repair your neighbours cooker.

Technically you arnt allowed to fit a knob onto a valve as you would be directly operating a gas device.

No doubt there are more conflicting regs with corgi buts it a grey issue if you are or not allowed to change an electrical part on a gas cooker.

The bsamsung ones that expert service i am sorry to say CAB i have been to brand new ones the reason that the plastic has melted is not the steamers its either come from the factory like it or its their heaters staying on to long.
I am a ex EAC engineer yes you would have engineers who could not be bother to get there steamers out and use the hairdrier. But I have been to brand new ones and found the insulation exposed right by the braising joint of the evaporater so nit must of left the factory like it!

Steam is steam it will not damage the appliance like a hair drier does.Thermal fuses are a problem but if you test before or after then its not a problem if you dont then you can create a recall.

If the thermal fuse has gone on the samsungs you CANNOT force a defrost as the fuse has blown.

EAC might have had lazy engineers but which company hasnt I myself treated every job with a professional attitude as was proud to be a eac engineer right up to the day of being made redundant and still are today yes its been hard being self employed over the last 4 months but how many recalls have i had 3 out of 300 calls.(1{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}).

So dont always blame eac engineers there are alot of other cowboys out there.(including the manufactures service arms).

Sorry for the outblast now i have cleared my chest i can go and do some calls.

if freezer defrost heater is on all time pcb faulty.

fridge low ambient heater on turn off orange light switch

if defrost sensor faulty ubit would stay in defrost mode.

but if fridge is warm would presume freezer is warm as well then its more likley got the dreaded apm6825 common gas leak.

but yours havnt gone wrong like the others so you cant blame that on it as its a completly different problem.

You mention it was bought off ebay was it second hand if its new has it got a serial number on it as i have been to a few in the last 2 weeks that have bought them off ebay and they turn out to be second hand and with no warranty.

all i can say is try it you know if it dont pull out then a door is the only option.
Otherwise put a large fridge magnet over it.

display board very reliable only ever had to replace 1 and that was door to water leaking onto dispaly board connector plug in door and carroded connector.

Had to replace both door and display board.

Apart from that went to one last week with the same fault cleaned away corrosion and advised if fault comes back she will need new door and pcb.

    To me worth a repair.
