Re: White Knight CL247WV Keeps cutting out.

p192, i have tried both of my main spares distributors and neither recognise that model number not even google does!

Not sure if anyone on here using master part could say whether its on their system. Cant really help or cross check if the parts you have are correct im afraid…

Without being able to find info on the model, i cant tell you if it has other certain parts on it! However, you say it cuts out totally, iirc with w/k’s when one of the stats fail it will just stop the heating circuit, not the motor drive as well. Also i just noticed you says it stutters, w/k are known for the plastic fans to wear where they use a pin to secure them to the shaft, this could easily cause a stuttering sound, as the inertia kicks in when the motor stops to reverse its action, and obviously if its worn so bad, it will not be able to move the amount of air necessary to stop it cutting out.

can you take a picture of the sticky label on the rear for us please?

Re: Bosch exxcel 1400 trips RCD

unlikely to be brushes if its takign 10 mins to trip out, esp if its ok on cold/rise progs, unless theres moisture leaking from somewhere onto the motor or onto terminals or a component, so check that there are no holes around the rubber gasket that could leak onto the electrics or the door lock. so sounds like it may well be the heater circuit. this will include element, ntc, and the pcb module. heater element would be the first place to check tho. a continuity test with a multimeter is unlikely to show anything up however, because your rcd is tripping – you have a current leak to earth.

this means to be sure which part has failed you should insulation test the major components of your bosch. this would normally require an engineer, or an electrician friend. if you dont wish to go down that route then id use a pattern part –

and keep my fingers crossed, because to take a punt with the oem part costing nearly £60 with the p&p is a bit daft!

smeg built… could be anything… solenoids, dispensers etc. worth checking each including regen valves on the tanks too.

BTW if your not familiar they will do this for about 5 mins before attempting to start a prog too…

can you please verify cl247wv is the correct model?

if its vented, id be checking vent hose for fluff clogging and that hose isnt bent over or drooping below the height of wall hole…

sounds like thermostat first, not the selector. but its also a smeg, so worth checking for burnt out terminals, melted thermal fuses, before ordering anything

plug out or isolate from main first before doing ANYTHING.

its not impossible on wm witht eh fronts welded on, you just need technique – abilities to be dextrous, patient and have a 3rd hand also helps. not much else to say really. if you are really stuck, use the “find an engineer” link at the base of the forum…

exactly. apparently the minute we said something they didnt want to hear they would cut in with thats not my problem, my contract of the sale is with you, my right is to a refund as this is faulty and under 6 months of age, under… and she had the gall to accuse us of being rude, when she wouldnt let us finish a single sentence. unbe-fudging-levable

heard about the beko one being usable, cust seems not sort to trust that kinda thing and insisted on new w.p. part to try, happy to pay for it even if it wasnt faulty. so used it to fill up a connect order. will let everyone know mon when its in whether it works, bouyed with confidence now i spotted monsier penguine’s also “dippy” diplomat post, as it also read 57 too!

Re: BekoWMC61W takes to long to wash.

intention for the model was a currys exclusive, so probs wont find a manual yet, but excess cancelled orders did get shifted to various distributors for idies and euronics too. although i dont think they actually gave times in the manual – i got a wme8227 display on clearance, theres nothing in its book for duration, just water and energy consumption, and deep wash took 225ish mins with extra rinse selected, i think thatll be same for the longest cycle for a wm5/wm6 beko which is not far off 4 hours. find out how old cust last machine was and whether they had a large, single/double item at time of issue… call me a cynic, but i bet they have got the instructions, just not going to admit to it cos they dont wanna pay a callout for “pilot error” 😛

PS 2-10, zanussi are also 200+ mins for their cycles too…

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

rowenta iron, 2 months old, “what to do if somethings gone wrong” card in instructions, with step by step aftersales advice. (call rowenta, authorise cust pickup, and repair)… so cust walks into shop asks for refund as theres an electrical smell. refuses to leave without a refund, no inference they want an exchange. then the words that strike fear “my husbands a solicitor and i know my rights, sales of goods act AMMENDED states is a product is under 6 months blah blah. so my colleague hastily refunds the whole amount, there and then. i get back, take one look and notice the dent in the soleplate and think, dropped. they also did but because of the customers bravado, didnt mention it. fact is she told my colleague that we had to prove that hte product was by faulty by misuse, but didnt give her a chance to prove it, instead, essentially verbally bullied her into giving a refund before any investigation could be undertaken. fortunately rowenta issued an uplift, but still, in this day and age, that “consumer protection” attitude could be applied to using goods for free, for a lifetime, if you had the balls to be as beligerantly sh!tty as this cust had been. out of interest how would anyone else have handled it, if you told them you couldnt give a refund immediately, because it needed checking, and cust got insistant???
