never had any issue with polarity. just make sure you dont do the school boy error of putting them both on the same leg if theyre both double terminals!

if polarity was to be observed it would be moulded in or stamped on the lable…

steam from the base wont be the drain pump, some of these bekos are a bit of a worry seem to energise the element even when theres next to no water in the base, last one we looked at did this and she didnt want us to follow it up, just put it back in the hole so she could use it, as it “always did that” so we couldnt do much else and begrudginly refused to bill her as we werent happy with leaving it and didnt want any paper evidence wed been near it! :/

ps the impellor will seem stiff when its off of the motor, because its spring loaded 😉

argh can you get us a pic of the element up? a lot of them are wavey if, not how many waves, or a ms paint stylised pic 😛

base completely dry, and these are new format versions with the big askolls johnny – no need to unclip hoses – just a bayo fit.

hotdog, come across this before with the b/i ones, so did have a peek, and all ok, but it wouldnt explain why the trip happened halfway through the wash, and therein about 5 mins in, rather than straight away.

almost tempted to put the knackered askoll in, charge a reduced rate callout and get her to get hotpoint to fix, i mean replace the dw!

oh theres a miele wm on the same extension lead, and for some reason the miele fuse also went at the same time as the last blown fuse of the dw… which doesnt strike me as particularly normal…

probably looking too deep, chances are capacitor had worn, and hence went. the initial faults before blowing were the indications it was on its way out.

buy the cap from here. and dont worry too much about the extra 1/2 farad

youve eliminated most other options so yes circ pump first… dont forget to apply for trade if your an engineer and youll get more of a response

yip, was the ntc, for those requiring future reference. the old type used spade terminals but new version has the moulded terminals, this had the old type and google/here feedback implies it was changed due to it being crap and going wrong 😛

does it do it empty? if not then id be looking at oob. use the “mini load” option for light loads under 1kg (dry)

these circ pumps can regularly clog with crud, and jam. id be looking there, access RHS as you look at it, pretty simple to work on… its a sealed imp housing and impellor, which isnt as far as im aware available seperately, so you have to replace whole motor if you cant free impellor fully. imp housing can be removed from motor however for easier cleaning.

yep, defo check the fan, and check the capacitor. otherwise if its completely cutting out its the motor or timer…

    Re: Daewoo fridge freezers?

looks very similar to teh samsungs and lg’s. could easily be out of the same factorys, so depends where its built. been doing samsung f/f in that format for a while, and seem to have far better quality internal fixtures and fittings than equivalent european bosch and hotpoints and zanussis… at the end of the day refrigeration doesnt last forever so if you get 5 years, anything extra is a bonus… if its a good price then…
