    Re: hotpoint recall 70,000 dishwasher

not at all mad angler, from a consumers p/o/v its far worse to not issue a recall if theres a known fire-issue. Personally if I had an affected one, id just not use it till indesit sorted it out. The problem lies with the “its my rights” lot that would insist on it being done straight away or have a refund or repacement if that wasnt possible thats stopped indesit doing this, which in this trade i can understand indesits logic, however thats a massive gamble to make, especially if a death was the result. The PR damage caused by a recall is nothing compared to that of a death by negligence claim. Just ask beko…

Hi Brewenuk, can you post an update on this, working on a WDL540puk.c with similar problem. Spoke to Tony@EMW and suggested i take a look at the dryer ntc & loom. Anyway had a iwd-something with the same dryer system and ntc going for scrap so took that with me and tried that and no issues, put in a pne with connect for the ntc as it wasnt listed on hp site, and it looks totally different to the original, so would like to know how yours pans out

Righty ho, ill give it a go. it can only fail…! i was only presuming the wattage would affect fan speed, although i guess itd also be down to efficiencey too, a more efficient fan would require less power to run it?

fair point, have only ran it with the “half load” that was left over from the load that smoked (the rest of the load was in the t/d at the time)

that was my immediate thoughts, but theres no flex or play on the drum that i could feel to imply spider failure, but i guess you only hneed a hairline fracture in one arm? Only reason i thought the struts were maybe the culprits, if they were not damping properly and therefore the spider/drum was flexing instead. sod of a job to extract-refit this thing, but basically only way to be sure is to strip it to the core and inspect the spider?

certainly sounds like its the “extra demand” causing it to crash. im assuming if the heater was disconnected it would just abort to an error code rather than work, albeit cold?

no its a mag that favours euronics, rather than every independent 😉

line managers can only do so much to get staff in the multiples to work properly, they arent generally well paid (min wage usually) and these days often on 4 or 7 hour contracts that can be extended. theres no real motivation for them to serve! not only that as many of the 16-21 year olds that make up a large proportion of the staff that often get criticised, dont view it as a lifetime career, its to pay for their pizza/rent/tuition etc, so as they say, you can lead a horse to water, but you cant make it drink

yeh i had wondered as it was half way through the cycle, havent had a chance to get my colleague to meggar the element yet, but its not o/c and cant see how that couldn explain why it just refuses to even turn on a display now anyway. there is the usual high freq whine from the module when dw is plugged in, just no display or response from control board…

ps have cross referenced packaging part code of supplied stat and it seems to match up fine. Cant see it being the fan element due to conventional test doing same, door seals seem perfect, and doubt our thermometer is dodgy as it didnt feel 180* in the oven when we took it out 😛 (no face full of heat)
