tell me about it – i think i must have still been in middle school when it came out the factory. cust reckons its 17/18 years old. wouldnt go thru full prog without both solenoids taking a feed. oddly with just the one internal fill it was seeping out the back solenoid so maybe its lifespan is shortlived, oh well shes happy now, its done and dusted, and can always give her discount on new one if it dies anytime soon

Re: smeg 10054 format dishwashers – fills and drains simulta

i could only remember the type no. of the dishwasher as i couldnt find my notepad with the serial and model in it…! nothing serious 😛 was assuming the 10054 no. refers to the general layout of that format of smeg d/w

nine jim, this is the vestel model, there is a basic fault code identifier in the back of instruction book, but id be looking at the element anyway. the w1011 is about 6yrs old now (blue front) or 5yrs if its the black print, either way these were the solidist ones they made! easy thing to try is to put it on a cold wash, not a 30, an actual cold one on wool cycle iirc, and it should work fine if the heater/ntc is dodgy.

worth ringing 01452883009 to get parts/advice. their parts arent expensive.

today – a s/order fan oven motor arrives 12pm, its been on order for a while so i call cust immediately, “your parts just arrived for your oven, wondered if its ok to pop round to fit?” yeh thats fine they say, so im like “ill be there by half 12… i get there 20 mins later:

me-smelling hot foot and sensing a warmth from the oven “erm has the oven been on in last few minutes?”

nooo just the grill, the wife just got back and was hungry so i did her some cheese on toast, hope thats ok, i used the grill so the fan wont be hot.

ffs! and this cust. is a retired engineer! i was tight on time today so couldnt wait for it it cool and ended up changing the impeller wearing a bloody oven glove >:(

lol, chilling out tonight, and its just hit me, you need to put old pcb back in and swap out the wash element. did one today on a zwf1211… didnt give any error codes, like they normally would, but this had obviously been struck by something and where it was pitted rust had formed, and im guessing lowering the insulation resistance…

    Re: Bosch carbon-brush motors

is it really a bodge though? surely bodging is bypassing it altogether. if both a hp toc and bosch toc are very closey rated, surely its a repair. and if electro has been having permanent success, its no more of a bodge than replacing a blue cap on a hp pcb. it would be interesting to know what the public thought, new motor or innovative skilled repair?

    Re: Bosch carbon-brush motors

electro, “down in martins country” round here we get approx 33{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} failure rate on bosch motors, and most customers are scrapping them, as they tend to see at least 5-6 years…

wasnt aware that you could raid the hotpoint motors for a toc tho, any chance you could pm me the model ranges i need to keep an eye out for as ive got a couple of wae24165s ive retained that need them 😀

Re: Zanussi fle1416 no lights/ start

its unlikely to mean anything, if the board wasnt correct or you dropped a wire etc. PUT the old pcb back, double and triple check wiring connections and nip them up just to make sure then access diagnostics and let us know how you get on. instructions are available on connects mediator.
