    Re: Where’s everybody gone?

i think theres a few on here who need to remember what it feels like when you get an awkward customer who stands over you all teh time. is already irritated their machines bearings have gone. not your fault, your only there to fix it. and gradually gets more and more hacked off as you spend 4 hours replacing them because half the bearing casing its wedged in the tub.

thats kinda how i would imagine ken must feel about the site.

repairs in some areas may be down, but ask yourself why is that?

round here repairs are all thats going on and we have a shop too. if it wasnt for the repairs we’d be sunk. i dont beleive in the poorer areas people are giving up on repairs, it defies logic if your on a shoestring.

people on here have been slating y/pages and thomson and bt etc but think about it, if you need a repair where as a client would you look? theres still a lot of traditional people who havent got internet…

it also depends on the wear and tear to the fan motor, occasionally all you need to do is clean them up as its only a build up of grease and food residue which causes them to become intermittent and stick/slow, but you kinda need to have seen enough good ones and enough bad ones to know when thats a possibility. hth

maybe its the merloni-authorised way of removing the cheesegrater effect of the outside of the inner drum! has it stopped her getting little holes in her clothes?

you could use pjh or swift for built in if you want reliable always in stock service. both are nationwide and seem to be pretty good with stock levels of built in. not only will they allow you a smidge of margin, but far better to support them than the netguys and chainstores the rest of us indie retailer/repair guys are in competition with!

    Re: Bosch Oven Problem

you say the fan is not running, how have you come to this conclusion? also, a pattern fan for boschs is widely available at about £50 cheaper than an original part. i would argue without paying for labour, a pattern fan, and pattern or genuine element for this is a better buy than shelling out £400 for an equivalent bosch/neff oven… unless its absolutely ghastly and filthy inside 😉
