looks like an SMV50E00GB to me. £473 sounds a realistic price tho. best thing is to speak to bosch before giving the go ahead and make sure they will actually warranty it for 2 years, and howdens havent bought out the warranty to outsource elsewhere

ParticipantRe: oven overheating
aha well the topic was based oin single ovens, so wrongly assumed you were asking about single ovens too!
freestanding cookers:
single oven, twin cavity (aka single ovens with sep grill), or double ovens.
usually most twin cav and dbl oven cookers main ovens with fans will be true fan ovens, because they then only need to fit one element, whereas for a fan assisted you need a top and bottom element. ok?
some single ovens, with fans, are fan assisted – because the main cavity is also goinh to be used as a grill, which is why its cheaper to built it with a dual circuit grill.
only time you tend to get grills in hte main ovens of a double oven now, are built in multifinction doubles, and i cant think of one now on the market where the main oven is only fan assisted 🙂

we think it was external factors, until i get back to it i cant be sure, but there wasnt a hurry on for this repair, will keep you updated though, switchgear seems to check out and theres not much else other than solder on the pcb, so no reason for it to “not” work. problem with htis switchbank iirc is the track also affects the on/off, so no track, no worky 🙂

Dr dill, do you fit your own kitchens or contract the installations out?Reply to Gandh1:-
I have my own fitters that work self employed.
so you contract the kitchen installs out, which basically makes you an agent just like net retailers, but in a physical state, rather than the net retailer. essentially both forms of sales are you supplying the customer with the information the customer deciding, you processing an order and thats that. the only difference im assuming you do, is measure up the house, and use fancy software to plan the kitchen?
as previously stated, the issue is not with which kind of marketplace is selling what, but with who is selling xyz at silly price £0.99p
its already noticeable that those who have survived the last recession were discounter companys who either could cover losses with other parts of their busness portfolio, or established companys charging premium rates for their service and goods. just like with the economay, you cnat use borrowed money to pay off debts for very long. no matter what labour try to tell you 🙂

ParticipantRe: Candy Go 1482-80 PCB fail
candy labour approx £100
would be worth going with though, because its very common for candy/hoover motors to take out the main pcb. both parts combined = write off of the appliance.
you could alternatively post a hi-res pic of the pcb & burnout, and we can advise what may have caused that???

so any engineer wishing to repair an appliance needs a t11?

and the negative bit means it works in the opposite direction. i.e higher temp=lower resistance. a normal thermister’s resistance rises as the temp rises (ptc)

ParticipantRe: Waste management changes coming soon!!
fact is they dont make these regulations identifiable enough to the average joe. they are too vague in order to cover everyone, but by being so vague they are unenforceable.
if the government want us to waste more of our own time adhering to these new laws, they need to spend a few hours of their own time telling each trade exactly what they can and cant do.
otherwise its fudging stupid waste of effort.
