Participantnahm you can buy a programmed eprom
whats the model number?
im sure emw could supply you a board/eprom combined cheaply enough… just need the model
helo_75
Participantitll need programming, but therell be a leaflet in the box
cant you find a push button off an old board somewhere?
helo_75
Participanti must admit i havent seen that at all
and i see a lot of them
they tend to discolour if the front seal comes off, but never seen one melt
ideally, they should never overheat to the point they melt the plastic, as there’s the toc on the heater , and a duct stat
but, as always, its merloni we’re talking about
helo_75
Participantdepends on the model
burn out is a term i dont like, yes they go o/c, and it isnt common, worth checking before you go down the expensive pcb route
if your confident of testing at board level (plug out of course) it may be just a dry joint
helo_75
Participantlol, dont take all this to heart… weve all detracted from the original post, and at leat the machines working at the mo, and will probably require a pcb and eprom at some stage, its a sticky heater relay
take care

Participantso your car was requiring a part after 4 years? and if the part wasnt fitted, it wasnt fit for use on a public road
NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE
id be going back to the car dealer and demand a new vehicle, compensation for the hassle, id be on the net posting on every car forum i could find
people do it for £100 fridges, why not for a £22,000 car?
you all taking my point yet?
helo_75
Participantpossibly, it could be the mains filter
its at the back, where the cable goes in the machine
plug out if investigating
after that, its on/off switch then pcbhope this helps
helo_75
Participantyour 21 years too late with your insult
ill say it again, your basing your comment on something you do not know
u dont know what the fault is, so how can u say its common?if a fridge is not getting cold, then yes its faulty, but other makes go faulty as well, not being cold in a fridge is the ONLY fault youd get
AND, since someones told you it might be a thermostat problem suggests that that person knows very little about that appliance, since its digital, and doesnt actually have a thermostat
i stand by my original statement… what you said made bad reading, the samsung consumer brigade do it all the time, stating things that plainly arent right, based on what they read on a handfull of posts
this site is very helpful, you’ll find that people will missenterprate what you type
maybe if youd just asked the question, you may well have got a much better structured response
regardless off all that, i will ask you one thing, because, despite your perception of my post, im only trying to be helpful
when you open the freezer door, does it seem overly warm around the outside edges of the freezer?
could be your answer……..
and you wont buy a comparable machine for ‘135 quid’
but then, what would i know?
helo_75
Participantlike that wasnt posted 2 years ago?
helo_75
Participantyup nearly all machines have electronic controls
here go the consumer rights brigade
want 5 years warranty on a £151 machine, but quite happy to pay £500+ to put a £25,000 car through an mot after 3 years
is it really that hard to be realistic?
helo_75
Participantcommon?
and you base this theory on?
since you dont have a scooby doo what the problem actually is how can u assume its common?
honestly…..
take off the kickstrip at the front and clean it out….. thats probably your answer
helo_75
Participantadam
some grills require the door to be closed, depends on make and model
no, there wouldnt be a thermostat capable of switching the GAS off if it overheated, at most, the grill will always stay at the temperature you set it at , door closed or not.gas grills rarely work on a thermostat, normally, its just an open valve, with the gas lit, its that simple
glasses on ovens do shatter, its fact, and sometimes for no reason at all
although, if you ask traders/landlords… ovens.hobs.fridges etc, that are supplied to them are generally not respected or looked after at all
which is why most people stop supplying them.. people tend to look after stuff better if they paid for it, its that simple
difficult positon to be in, but the general consencus would be misuse, and pure ignorance by the tennant
and no, doors dont just ‘fall off’, they all need some sort of effort to remove, sounds to me like theyve been over-physical, or dropped something on it
good luck, your gonna need it…….
model number would be helpfull if you would like to try and get a replacement, as hygena ovens are generally mfi branded machines
helo_75
Participantagreed, they must p155 themselves when they design them, thinkin about us tryin to repair them
unlike the ctd, which are rubbish, but are easy to work on
helo_75
Participantnope, no easy way
front off, drum out!!!!
unless u use a tin opener, theres no other way im afraidhelo_75
Participantok, so if its under somekind of a warranty, and its unrepairable, there should be a contribution form the guarantor towards a replacement
im sure you wont be out of pocket
id be more inclined to scrap it… it is a merloni machine after all
