Participantgrrrr
all manufacturers state, in the instruction manual, that they can, without any notification to the consumer, change the specification at anythimethat basically means, that a modified part doesnt necessarily mean the original idea of design isnt suitable, it may just be that someone somewhere decided that the alternative part may be easier to supply/fit, or may function better than the original
it isnt an admition of fault or bad workmanship, it generally just means that samsung do care about making things better for you, the consumer
roll on the next ‘ yet ANOTHER faulty samsung’ thread, so someone else can start a non valid argument about something someones friends uncles dad might have heard on watchdog once
selective understanding seems more common than the faults you all seem to create
thank you

Participanthas it been taken apart recently?
ive been to them where the top bracket hasnt been fitted right, at the front left hand corner, it makes the container sit a little too far forward, its obvious if you look how the front panel sits

Participantor maybe your condensers just blocked?
thats the usual culprit – pull botton flap down, remove condenser, and clean it under a shower head/garden hose
always worth a try

Participantwhat mac stated is correct. r600a and mac are both very high profile samsung repair agents, if there was a problem theyd admit to it
why , all of a sudden, is every member of the public a consumer rights expert?we’ll keep disagreeing with you, your wrong
there is no massive design flaw.. generally, its poor engineers who cant seem to find the fault
easily cured, easily fixed, just think of how often that fridge freezer switches itself on/of , defrosts itself over its life time.. if you drove your car for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at full speed for 2 years, wouldnt you expect trouble?
and all this consumer nonsense?
do you take your car for an m.o.t at 3 years old and then take it back to the manufacturer because it fails?
i think youve just answered your own questionive said it before and ill say it again , people pay tens of thousands for their vehicle, but they pay for repairs after the guarantee period, but when a £500 fridge freezer breaks down after the guarantee period, they move heaven and earth to get someone else to fix it… FREE and kick off beyond belief
thank youhelo_75
Participantlol, if its a dead service, its usually only one thing
pcb, and not cheap either
helo_75
Participantdrum has to come out really
if you uscrew the drum, you can pull the drum out, with the belt left in position
change the pulleys, put some grease on, then slip the drum back through the belt
u should have enuff room to put your hands through and pull the pulleys over the belt
pig of a job im afraid, no quick easy fix, either
just have to stick at it
helo_75
Participantso its the model with the ntc?
thats the usual culprit… my mistake, sorry
helo_75
Participantmotor failing to activate
usually cap (9uf)
changed a few, just take the side panel off like the ctd
hope this helps
helo_75
Participantbrushes in the motor or jammed pump
hope this helps

Participantand its so dam tight now, it twists the base, and it aint available
had to write a couple off recently
helo_75
Participantdont u see though, the fans nit your problem
its the fact that the ice builds up and obstructs the fan blade, thats allhoover will almost certainly repair it for less than a ton, so thats probably the best option
dont be cutting holes in it, ull definatly write it off
helo_75
Participanthav you checked the cut out on the freezer evaparator?
thats the usual culprit
although it tends to be a pcb problem that
helo_75
Participanttry taking off the display board, and refitting it
sometimes, people press them too hard, and the buttons become dislodged
other than that, its the main pcb and eprom
helo_75
Participantits not that strange, timers faulty
had it a few times
helo_75
Participantit actually invole pulling the evaporator out (very very sharp) and attatching some metal strips to the heater, and that then pushes down the drain
not a diy job, difficult to get to, hard to put back once its out, and rarely works correctly ever again
of course, it could just be a faulty defrost heater, but the same applies
not tryin to do it down, it just aint nice, and hoover should be able to fix it for you at a fixed price
give em a ring, ask em
