Participantgood call… at least the 1703080 kits has them all in, so thats the best option
it still allows you to remove the wheels, and fit front pads to the machine

Participanthttp://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/product_ … cts_id=315
not expensive either

Participantactually jim, theres 2 different back bearings… ones square, the other one is a tear drop shape, incorporated into a new back panel
if you need the rear bearing, and its square, u can use the vented kit (previous p/no 1703080) that has the front pads , rear bearing (square).. front and rear seals, drum shaft and a bearing pin
not seen a lot of the teardrop bearings, but they are out there, trust me

Participantis that the dreaded machine with the eprom and board on the back?
id be checking that if it is

Participantand its freezing becuause it probably needs a evapotaor cover, and more than likely one of the new sensors (identified by being black or white.. if its white, u need to put a black one in) , possible thermal fuse/defrost heater
introducing hot air into a cold air blown environment is not the cure and will intensify your problem
there was NO modification to the water lever.. there was a kit introduced to replace the handle and repair the door moulding if it was broken (as doors are usually in excess of £100)
best to get it sorted rather than introduce warm air and cause problems!

Participantfit another pcb….. its not a temporary fix, its just the way they are, unfortunately… theres another post on here saying that its possible clean the contacts on the potentiometer on the board, but ive never been successful

Participantnot massiveley expensive considering the price of the dryer
you could always try the £90 labour and free parts from indesit parts route…..
helo_75
Participanterm, actually, it is
theres a new modified door seal to fit it….
not got the part number to hand, typically, but ill get it

Participantthe capacitor that starts the motor is probably duff, and because the motor didnt run, the fan didnt cool the element , so the thermostats tripped as well
thats because, mostly, by putting it on the matress, youve restricted the airflow, and the motor will have overheatedall this points back to your original problem… it probably needs a cooling fan as well
hope this helps

Participantf13 is a dryer related fault
usually the thermistor to be honest.. but it could be any number of factors… jammed fan/blocked condenser/faulty heter/tripped saftety stat or fuse!!/ possible board & eprom problem
in an ideal world it shouldnt affect the washer side of things, but this is a merloni machine we’re talking about – the reason being that the newer versions of machines do a self test before starting a full progra ( which is why it takes water for 3 seconds, then pauses before continuing!) – so any apparant fault will show itself and stop u from using it
if your any good with a multimeter, then WITH THE PLUG OUT, test the components on the heater box at the top, if not… im sure ukwhitegoods could advise you a reputable engineer in your area
hope this helps

Participantand the original post where he states he tried a door lock?
helo_75
Participantsomeone from idesit shold be looking at that and wondering why the hell their machines only last 3 minutes
a testament to a time when the british safety mark actually meant something, and the machines were designed and built to the best spec available at the time
maybe modern day stuff hasn’t advanced at all
helo_75
Participantnot sensing pressure switch
possible pressure switch /board fault
usually pcb and eprom to be honest

Participantthen theyre legally obliged to change the appliance
IF thats the case, then call them out, and take advantage of your ‘5yrs’ parts guarantee, and theyll have to uplift it
simple, really
helo_75
Participantid still be checking the pins activating the lock.. for reference, the bitron door lock will buzz whether the door is open or closed
ive had a few twisted doors
try stickin a screwdiver firmly through the hole to be sure
othe than that, itll be timer, but i reckon yer problems with the door
