erm, please dont post advice about dismantling gas ovens in a public forum
as previously stated, u need to have a corgi registered engineer to repair your appliance, regardless of how easy it is
the law’s there for safety reasons
and it doesnt matter if your only repairing the electric side of it, the machine still needs to be purged and drop tested to ensure safety
thanx

thats right.. as long as there some way of getting a flu to the outside, within manufacturers specification, and suitable ventilation, anythin is possible!!

ParticipantRe: New noisey Bosch KGN34X00G Fridge / freezer
😯 its a drain hole.. ie to drain WATER
if theres ice in it, it aint draining
honestly, if the bosch guy cant at least be honest with you, its time to give up
i wouldnt bad mouth bosch in any way, their machines are far superior to a lot of stuff, and any problems that arise are cured or modified in practically no time.. fabulous customer support, with even better technical assistance
im glad you managed to get it sorted anyway

ParticipantRe: Samsung RS21 NCNS
see, so its unfair to jump the gun and refer to them as poor
that percentage speaks volumes

ParticipantRe: Stoves oven temp problem.
if its duel fuel, sorry we cant advise much
stats probably faulty, but if its dual fuel, a corgi registered engineer needs to be called out to repair
hope this helps

ParticipantRe: WMA35
hmm, its usually the motor that blows the pcb on them
the block for the motr/interlock is the same
so usually u got and the door light flashes.. thats a tell tale sign
hope this helps

ParticipantRe: Customers Attitudes
actually the newer plastic tubs arent so bad
yup out through the top… weight off, motor off, sump, door seal and fill hose, and it comes out
i can do one, less than an hour

ParticipantRe: Samsung SR-S2026CVW Freezer not Freezing
absolutely not
😆 uve got no idea what was sent to me.. but, as u all say, it was dealt with, i ignored it , but it carried on, and others where sucked in
i just like things being done properly, in a safe and positive manner . i would never do a job that was not up to the standards i would expect myself
opps, we’re moving away from the topic.. have you managed to get sorted laurajay? its always good to know the outcome
😀

ParticipantRe: Samsung RS21 NCNS
i wouldnt worry greatly
the samsungs without the ice and water seem to be far more reliable
you see, mac has a good point there!
all that seems to be seen is people reporting their problems, people who have no problems dont, cos theyve no need topersonally, i like samsung appliances, theyre well built and fuction well
no1 will ever be able to advise on the percentage breakdown on reliability
believe me when i say that theres an awfull lot of them out there, and whilst it seems that theres a lot with reported faults, im convinced ther will be an awful lot that of people who have had NO problems and are blissfully happy with there reasonably priced american style appliance.
incidentally, on a lighter note, i was called out to a samsung today, 30 months old
warning lights on.. theyre rubbish.. need all these conversions (customer says whilst clutching of printed posts from t’internet)
basic fact.. the filter warning light changed to red, and because he’d read all the negative posts, he thought he was in for bucket loads of trouble
you see my point?

ParticipantRe: Indesit possible F17 fault
not sure if f17 is a fault
anyway.. if the doors locking and the machine aint starting, its usually the brushes to be fair, but ive had faulty valves, even the board burning on the valve connection
so, as ever with indesit… could be just about anything 😆

ParticipantRe: Customers Attitudes
customers… gotta love em
had a guy today… hoover machine.. 3 months old
‘noisy’ he said… ‘sounds like a pneumatic drill’… ‘get it out of my home, i want my money back, compensation, and payment in lieu of my day off’
so, after a ‘constructive’ conversation, i persuaded him to allow me to inspect the machine
guess what? yep, bra wire wrapped round heater, needed a new heater as well, it just wouldnt go back in
‘obviously a rubbish machine’ commented the customer ‘ shouldnt need a new heater, not that new… im going to email watchdog , your service is poor, no1 should have to wait 3 days for a repair’
theres only so much i can take from over demanding customers , who think that cos they spend what is actually not a lot of money on a washing machine, they have every right to abuse you.
anyway, after a good 20 mins i informed him that the repair wasnt actually part of his warranty, but as a good will gesture, id repair it free of charge this time , but explained that in the future any such occurence would be chargeable .. he seemed ok after that
its gettin harder, i always said the job would be easier if it wasnt for customers

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Washing Machine Mod. WF740
or u could just unplug it… leave it for 10 mins, and plug it in… it sometimes works

ParticipantRe: Samsung SR-S2026CVW Freezer not Freezing
please please please… theres one post about samsung fans thats been causing arguments for weeks in here, please disregard it
it really does sound like a fan or sensor problem, its a simple repair for a suitably qualified person, and well worth it as opposed to the replacement value of the machine
freezers rarley go wrong on these, and if the fridge is working, then its unlikely to be a system problem, more likely a faulty fan
i shall await my next nasty email from my favourite poster from a well known part of bolton 8)
