ParticipantRe: JL (Zanussi) T Dryer dead?
From Memory you need to change the SMPS chip (LNK304 I think) plus the fusible resistor and the bead inductor, if I remember correctly it uses basically the same power supply circuit as the Whirpool washing machine and tumble dryes but with a different value inductor and resistor.

Do they use rinse aid?
If they are using only the all in one tablets then the rinse aid part of them will be used and gone before the rinse part of the cycle meaning that unless they are using separate rinse aid then there is nothing to break up the surface tension of the water.Jem

Turn the selector till you find the position where the key symbol stops flashing then press and hold the start button for 5 seconds to deactivate the child lock.

Sounds like either the hinges are bent or the white plastic bearing in the hinge is worn/missing.

P.S. I found it listed as a Neff not Bosch

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers
Doesn’t look like it was much of a fire but here is one from my local area.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint/Indesit T/D Recall – Wrongly done?
That is one of the things that makes me suspicious which is why I want to be able to identify correctly and incorrectly modified machines.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA35 – Killing motors
The drum turns nicely as it has a pretty new set of bearings in it, certainty I can’t feel any obstruction by hand.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA35 – Killing motors
Well I had another look at this machine today, the motor meters out as practically perfect and the machine has full control of it over the wash cycle. There is no shorts or breaks in the wiring that I can find and the machine had a steady supply voltage of 238V and only drew a maximum of 11.4A in current.
After about 45 minutes into a 60c wash cycle the motor temperature reached approx 115C and the thermal trip cut out (the wash water was only 55C at the time). It is my suspicion that there is something odd going on with the board control of the stator half tap but I cannot see anything wrong on the board so I will send it to EMW for test/repair.
The only other common denominator that I can come up with is that I put a new set of brushes into both motors, the first motor after it had jammed them in the holder and the second motor just before fitting.
I may well exchange the motor for a second hand FHP or CESET unit for the peace of mind even though it will have to be at my expense.

Yes it was an identical unit, are the other makes completely interchangeable?

ParticipantRe: Wanted – Hotpoint WMA Console backplate
I had thought about that but on this particular machine that panel is very soft and disintegrating so wouldn’t survive it, the rest of the machine is clean as a whistle and rock solid so I am not sure why it has gone. I will probably paint the replacement panel (if I can get one) before fitting as I have the paint here anyway.

ParticipantRe: Wanted – Hotpoint WMA Console backplate
Here is the photo that I took of it yesterday, the machine is a wma35 but it should be the same part for most of the wma range.
Thank you

Anything else to look out for on these or other ideas?Thank you

P.S. The model number should be: S25DRSS33-A/G

ParticipantRe: Zanussi D/W ZDS22002WA overfilling
They are water operated devices as opposed to the more normal air operated units and in the couple of cases that I have seen they have always filled with sediment.

It does have a pressure switch but it is in a different location to normal, look for a little sensor clipped to the sump housing towards the rear left of the sump with 2 or 3 (I cant remember precisely) small wires coming from it. Part No: 4055346060 is the switch.
