Dave is right that RV1 is a VDR but to me it looks like it has either been cut off or vibrated off as the tend to leave decent scorch marks when they go pop.
Yes a 7805 is a 5V voltage regulator and is probably providing power to the microchip(s) – if you want to check it then looking from the front it is power in (needs to be approx 7V plus ideally), ground, 5V out put – if it helps when testing it then the tab is also ground.
It would be worth having a check of all the large resistors as they are of the fusible type and can fail open circuit silently.

EMW do repair this board even though it isn’t listed on their site – going by the images on connect I would say that it is either a mark 11 or 12.

Remove the belt, clear the error and then see if it brings it up, my guess is that it won’t come up as the motor will be able to turn again.
If you are lucky then it will be just something like a stone or sock jamming the tub (Yes I have had a sock jam a drum) otherwise it is a case of replacing the bearings (or tub if it is a sealed tub).

Does it still throw up the error after unsiezing the drum?

Sounds very possible – if the drum was seized and it has a good belt on it then it could also seize/jam the motor which would stop the motor generating a tacho signal.

No Signal from the tachometric generator (the signal must be absent for at least 3 seconds)

PM me an e-mail address and I will send you a copy of Qualtex’s Technical Bulletin which shows exactly what is required.

It is a slightly different design board to the ones I have fixed so far.
Yes the grey polyester X2 class capacitor is almost certain to be dead (even if it isn’t they die after several years so will be on its way out) – I would guess that it is in-line with either line or neutral. I have the luxury of capacitance test on the meter and an LCR that I can use to test them.
I would guess that the resistor is more likely to be a brown black brown (100 Ohm) but couldn’t be sure as the photos are rather blurry.
There are 2 three legged components that I can see on the board – one of them will definately be the TRIAC for the compressor, what’s the other? (could be TRIAC for the light or it could be a voltage regulator). If you can get better photos of both sides of the board then I might be able to help out more.

If there is no power then it is probably the capacitor that has failed (1uF from memory) – you don’t seem to have attached the pictures to your post but if do I can give more info on the resistor etc.

I take it no one has a diagram then – pity will have to work it out the hard way on Tuesday now that the customer is finally back.

A burnt out connection like that could cause the machine to stop – what happens is that as you draw more power through it the high resistance of the connection causes it to heat up at which point it expands and breaks contact (or in your case I suspect that it is driving the resistance so high that the board ceases to get enough voltage to run anything other than the low voltage LEDs).

Went back and fitted the module today and it all works 😯 Not sure if EMW reprogram boards as standard even for a no fault found but I can think of no good reason why it should suddenly work otherwise.

Could do with some labels on the picture but if I am looking at them correctly then the old element has different numbers on the top and bottom for the same terminals.
Going by the top view photos alone I think that the physical order of connection to the elements is the same even though the numbering is different.2 is now 3
1 is now 4
3 is now 1
2a/b is now 2(2a)Note: This is only what I would be trying going on the photos alone.

Should have mentioned in my first post that the main PCB has just come back from EMW as a “No Fault Found” – I haven’t been back to refit it yet (probably going back tomorrow). Yes please on the manual.
Thank you

:boops: Forgot that this is a 3 phase machine – serves me right for thinking about 2 machines at once.
