    Re: Hotpoint WM61

Which ‘diagrams’ do you mean. This is basically a standard WM machine.

Not sure a wiring diagram would be much help whilst on the phone to a customer. 😉

The one shot device on the Hotpoint CTD00 models which appear to be the same dryer are rated at 143°. green spot is 130°.

    Re: Partfinder DVD

I do seem to remember setting up the old FastTrak on both my desktop and old laptop without any problems, but that was BM, 😉

Actually, the wording on page 2 of the leaflet that comes with the disc is rather vague.

    First it says that,
‘Every issue must be setup before use and each PC ( or Network Terminal from which Partfinder will be accessed ) must be validated for that issue’

but lower down it also says
‘[Standard] and [Optimum] setups conclude with a Validation dialog.
For [Full] setups Validation is optional.‘ 😕

I would recommend that course of action. Have you checked to see if the belt has snapped ?

It is not a very expensive part, so it should not be a major expense to have it repaired, it is just an awkward job.

Check on the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help you.

After you have removed the plug, take the top off. If it is the belt that has failed it will be obvious. Other causes range from faulty motors, capacitors, timers to wiring faults etc.

For safety reasons we cannot go into chapter and verse regarding dismantling, save to say it is quite a difficult belt to replace, even for the experts.

    Re: Partfinder DVD

    Just received new Partfinder CD.

I have not used it on my old laptop for quite some time due to its age and limited ( 6 gig ) hard drive.

I have just installed and validated the desktop online.

I have now installed it on my new laptop and using the same details, POST CODE/PHONE NUMBER. It installed and validated perfectly online and is up and running on both desktop & laptop now. 😀

I did pay the extra £5.00 for another validation key, but I think I may have wasted my money. I feel certain this would have validated on the laptop using the original details.

If someone else could try this it will save me £5.00 next time. 🙂

I have dismantled the machine and checked the bearings. they are definatly dry and binding. the outer feels as though the race has broken up.

Then you may have a problem.

I would suggest you try to get the remains of the bearings out of the backplate first before ordering any parts. you may finish up needing to replace the whole of the backplate and possibly the drum & support shaft assy. Around £120 + vat for parts.

Hardly worth it on one of these machines. 😥

    Plug out at all times.

    Re: Hotpoint wmt 02

This machine does not have a ‘separate’ relay. It is not a tumble dryer. The relays in this machine are components on the control module.

It does however have a separate start switch.

    It looks like this

Very sharp edges, a bit of a fiddly job, will just about prise out from between the cabinet and drum to allow you to swap wires one for one.

Fitted new circulation pump an hour ago. Switched on. Neon 3, 50° wash illuminated. I could not cancel or select any other programmes, even pressing start for over 2 seconds did not clear.

Closed the door and the machine seems to be working perfectly, drain, fill, circulate.

I did not have time to wait until it had completed this cycle.

Is there a reset procedure after an error has occurred, will the machine reset after completing this cycle, or have I got another problem. 😥
