Thanks for that pen0668, BTW, turn your CAPS LOCK off when posting, it is considered as shouting although it doesn’t sound any louder to me, it looks nicer in normal text. 🙂

Well, I have just spent several frustrating hours setting up a DI-Link 634M Wireless router. After cloning MAC addresses, rebooting, unplugging cable after cable and , wishing I was a cat person so that I could kick something, I now have everything working fine. So, if the mood takes me I can sit here with the right hand working the desktop and the left on the new laptop viewing two posts at the same time. 😆

As if I would be that sad. 😉

    Re: How Busy Are We

The one thing that does worry me is the MASSIVE public sector pensions deficit, according to todays Telegraph the real figure for the NHS, teachers and armed forces alone, is underfunded by almost £1 billion. that is around £40,000 for every household in the country. This money will have to come from central government, and we all know that they have no money of their own, they get it from us :clown:

On the work side I have been very steady, a quite Monday on the phone, which is something of a rarity is almost always followed by a ‘go mad’ Friday.

Funnily enough, I was going to post about the fact that until recently I had been doing one or two WMA drum/bearing changes a week but have had none for almost a month, thinking the rubena seal has cured the problem, but I have had one today that needs a drum assy, nice earner for Monday AM. 🙂

I am in the process of setting up a wireless router but am having problems, so I am viewing the site now on my new laptop, using my Zen 56K dial up account and I have not seen it load this fast for ages. It really is flying tonight.

Re: No info on replacing stats on Hotpoint washer dryer

If your machine date code ( the first two numbers of the serial number) is below 40 then there is a complete modification to cure this persistant problem. It involves a new heater box, element and some other alterations. You will be covered for parts under Hotpoint’s five year parts g/tee. Not something to attempt yourself really. Part number is a 1605230.

One question, the equipment you use for your business, hairdryers, trimmers, nail files, scissors etc, are they bog standard domestic hairdryers etc, or better quality professional equipment. The simple answer is you get what you pay for. If you are buying a domestic dryer that lasts you 18 months then just think about how long the £900 commercial machine would last. At a guess I would say ay least 10 years. If you are taking a short term view of your business then buy cheap domestic dryers. If you think that you will still be in business in 10 years time then you should buy equipment that is built for the job.

He tells me that he just has a lot of new spares that are surplus 😉 that he wants to dispose of.

I have advised him to make a list of the type of things that will be of general interest, fast moving spares etc, and post it in the Classified section.
