Should not stop the machine draining though.

This machine is not the easiest machine to work on or access, even for the experts. It may just be a pump blockage or something more serious. Would strongly advise you have a look in Repairs@
Make sure you unplug if you are going to have a look yourself.iadom

Dave, you must have read the washer codes instead of the dishwasher codes like me. DOH.
A10 on later dishwashers is no heat. Needs attention by someone with suitable electrical test equipment.I did a sneaky edit on my first post. 😳

A10 indicates a ‘no heat’ fault.

Depends on the date code, different stats fitted, basically the machine can have either two 85°C closed circuit stats or an single double pole 85°C normally closed stat to prevent overheating, and one 65°C normally open stat to control wash temperatures.
The safety stat is fitted in different positions dependant on the date code.Grr, beaten to it by the feathered one.

Why is it that when you really could murder a brew, they never offer, or if you do accept, they take an age to brew up, the job is finished and you then spend ten minutes trying to down a scalding hot cuppa.

You need to get your dryer checked out by someone with the right experience and the correct test equipment. So many different things can cause the trips to go, impossible to second guess from here. Click on my sig if you need help, please remove the plug if you intend to ‘have a go’ yourself.

ModeratorRe: hotpoint wma34 leak
Some water will run down the front, round the door and under the plastic kickstrip, you don’t always notice it on the front unless you are looking for it, water can also leak down the inside of the cabinet front panel from the dispenser. As well as cleaning, try reducing your water pressure by adjusting the hot & cold taps so that you get a nice steady flow of water rather than a loud gushing sound.

the fan powers up (for about 10 secs), then switches off. The door can then be opened immediately.
This bit puzzles me, The machine should not function at all until the door is locked, and after locking the interlock should always take around a minute to release, even if you unplugged the machine. May suggest that further damage has been done to the machine when it blew, possibly the dryer timer may have suffered. When you say the two green connectors, I can only think of one green connector, ( I don’t have a machine in front of me ) which fits on the top edge with two black wires going down to the pump???
I know from personal experience that some of the plugs will fit on more than one slot on the PCB, and some of the functions will still work if they are incorrect. Difficult to advise you anymore from this distance. The one plug that is often damaged is the top one that fits nearest the front of the control unit.
If you can take a picture of your control unit with the connections in situ or do a rough sketch I would at least be able to check for any anomolies.iadom

Customer may need to try several times to get it to reset.
You’re not joking, just been this morning and it took six or seven attempts plus removing the plug to clear te5t. Pathetic little buttons that you have to push almost through the facia to get any response.Still a nice quick earner to ease me back into the daily grind. 🙂

Had Tuesday & Wednesday off. Full day booked today and most of tomorrow already booked, the roads are nice and quite so getting around is great. I think I will start a petition to make schoolchildren work nights. 😉
It is rather cold out though, car temp gauge was showing -6° this morning.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint WD62 module connections / not drying
There is no connection on the ‘temp’ position on this machine, nothing to do with the dryer cycle. Can the door be opened when it is filling. is there a few seconds delay before the machine starts ? It does sound like you have either incorrectly wired the control unit or the reconditioned one is faulty, where did you obtain it? Also possible that when the tracks on the timer PCB blew it may have damaged the contacts in the edge connector blocks.

Dermot wrote:Thanks for the reply. I was looking at the Hotpoint WF540 yesterday. It seems like a good machine although without the timesaver feature of previous models. Do you know if the newer Hotpoint’s have the same bearing problems?
No but they do have others, they have Indesit type electronic controls.
Just have a quick look at this forum for Indesit, and you will soon see that bearings will be the least of your problems.iadom

There are already several posts in the public forums on this fault and a post in the error codes.
I have talked the customer through the reset procedure to no avail. He did seem to understand my instructions and tried three or four attempts whilst I was on the phone without success.
I am going tomorrow to lay on the magic finger. 😉 😀
BTW Don, I used to use that avatar for many years on another forum I frequent, with the tag line above it saying “Crackin post Gromit” 🙂
