    Re: Hotpoint WD865 ‘Test’ fault

I wonder if this info is in the user manual? judging by the number of posts from different people over a short period of time in this thread.

Perhaps this information needs to be added to the Error codes thread.

Re: Hotpoint WMA34 – faulty pump?

Most definately worth fixing, the machine will not spin if it cannot empty. The pump may have a blockage or be faulty. The cost of a pump is around £20.
You do have a five year parts warranty but Hotpoint will charge you just under £90 for the labour.

Have a look here to see if we have someone in your area.

Please make sure you remove the plug if you intend to attempt to repair yourself.

Re: Indesit forno electric oven, grill ok but oven not heati

I checked both models on PF Dave, as far as I can see the fan element is in the diagram but not in the parts list on either. 😥

Shows as item 26 for one model and 63 on the other but I cannot see it in the parts list.??

Very unusual, not come across that on a 95 with basic timer before. That’s what stops the job getting boring, there is always something new to learn. 8)

Would suggest it was the type with the stepping solenoid as Eastmark said. The first time I heard the timer solenoid firing on and off like a machine gun I thought it was a timer fault. It was only when I saw it happen on a machine that had a timer fitted a couple of months before that I found out it was the motor causing it.

Re: Creda Tumble Dryer T622CW – Not Heating

Hi Sarah, The most likely cause is the thermostats. You must keep the filter and the heat exchanger (long metal box ) very clean. Also you should avoid switching the dryer off when it is hot, you should always allow the 10 minute cool down period to run its course.

    you could look here

Please remove plug if you intend to investigate further.

With the machine unplugged, check the continuity of the two small stats above the heater, particularly the one with a green spot on it.

Just a cosmetic difference. The biege seal was used on the Natural Linen models.

Re: HOOVER TCE61 Filter light no HEAT

Whilst it is possible for two separate components to fail at the same time I would personally want to check the continuity of both the heater and its inbuilt protector as well as any other stats to make sure where the fault lies.

Re: wma 33 door seal, soap damage!!

Many years ago we had severe problems with the black rubber doors seals on Hotpoint machines that where used in chip shops and other catering establishments. The fats reacted with the detergents and caused the rubber to break down into a black sticky mess. At the time Hotpoint supplied a very expensive butyl rubber seal for use in these cases.

I have one customer that I had to change three seals in less than three months. The teenage daughter had a severe skin problem. I pointed them to Hotpoint’s website and they ordered the drum descaler that Hotpoint recommend online. I also advised them to pre soak all items of clothing that may have come into contact with the creams and this has made a big difference.
