Re: hotpoint wt961 d in display

There have been 3 versions of Demo Mode used on these appliances:
    Version 1 (Production – Date Code 39 March 2005)
    To Activate
    1. From the default screen of a programme after switching the appliance on press both ’Start /
Cancel’ and ’On / Off’ buttons together until ’d ON’ appears in display.
    2. Press the ’Start / Cancel’ button only and ’t ES t’ appears in the screen. (Temp and Spin symbols also appear.)
    To Deactivate
Press the ’Start / Cancel’ button until ALL the console LEDs illuminate.
Press both ’Start / Cancel’ and ’On / Off’ buttons together until ’d OFF’ appears.
The default screen returns and you can select a new programme.
Note: – The default screen information displayed on these models is that of the programme currently selected by the selector knob.
Version 2 (during Date Code 39 March 2005 – to Date Code 42 June 2005)
    To Activate
    1. Same method as Version 1.
    To Deactivate
    1. Simply press the cancel button and the appliance returns to default
Version 3 (During Date Code 43 July 2005 – to date)
    To Activate
    1. Press ’On / Off’ and ’Start / Cancel’ together with the top left option button until ’d On’ appears.
    To Deactivate
    1. Press ’On / Off’ and ’Start / Cancel’ together with the top left option button until ’d OF’ appears.

    Re: wml540 leaking dispenser

As mentioned above, a long standing design fault on these, new dispenser assembly was the original cure but full unit is not usually supplied for every model, there are several variants so full serial number and commercial code needed to ID correct parts.

As I have already said, re taping or trying to reseal is very unlikely to be successful, that joint is under mains pressure. That part number is the longer dispenser top which includes the valves.

Re: water inlet valve connection problem

Unfortunately yours is the earlier model, it originally had a small extension piece glued to the end of the valve to allow an Indesit dispenser to fit inside a Hotpoint cabinet, this often leaked. This was superceded by longer dispenser top which includes the new valves. you will not be able to buy the original valve and a repair of same is very unlikely.

    Part number is C00115441.

Re: water inlet valve connection problem

    In a word….no. 🙁
The wiring diagram does not give the colours of the wires or the small plugs and the valve solenoids can vary in colour.

Also there are a few variations of this machine and the original valve is no longer available, there is a conversion kit that includes the top of the dispenser.

You would have to give us all of the numbers on the small label inside the door for us to identify.

Usually the length of the wires will give you some idea of which valves they fit onto but even if you get them wrong you cannot do any damage, all that will happen is that the detergent will go in at the wrong time, the fabric conditioner may also go in too soon. If that happens the just swap the connectors over.

Non operative module, sooner or later you will need to have the module re programmed or replaced. 🙁

Iffy motor plug contacts a possibility, I have often cut off the pathetic plug that is fitted and replaced with suitably insulated AMP tags.

If it will help I can send you the manual, PM me an email address. 🙂

Re: Hotpoint TCL770g Condenser flashing lights

The error codes are given by flashing all of the horizontal lights and lighting up ‘without flashing’ the bottom five vertical lights with the END light counting as 1 and the CLEAN FILTER light as 5.

The vertical lights you describe would correspond to lights 2,3 & 5 which is not a recognised error code. 😕

I could understand using non gen if you are saving lots of money and find the pattern spares to be as good as the original but you are only saving a couple of pounds on these pulleys, wiped out in spades if you get a quick U/G call back.

    Re: wm63p door seal

The one on the left is identical to 5 or 6 1603006 seals I have. ???

They did experiment with a different seal like the old one and a stainless steel rim that fitted loosely to the drum front in an attempt to stop clothes passing the seal, I have just discarded the stainless steel ring and fitted a 1603006, cannot rememeber having any problems. 😕
