The pressure switch itself can fail but that is not common. The motor/pump failure on the other hand is a well known weak point on Indesit made dishwashers, Personally I wouldnโ€™t go to the expense of a new motor.

It’s time for a bit of winter sun, ๐Ÿ˜€

Of to Costa Adeje, Tenerife in the morning for a week. Staying at a hotel with one of the silliest names ever.

Hotel Vinnci La Plantacion del Sur. ๐Ÿ™‚

Daughter has been four times and highly recommends it. 8)

    Jim.

Five years later and we are off to the same hotel once more. It was fantastic last time but as it is not dog friendly it has been off the menu recently. However on Tuesday of next week it is my one and only daughters 40th birthday. A couple of months ago I asked Susan (SWMBO) if we had anything planned to celebrate the daughters birthday and she said that the son in law had booked a holiday at this hotel for a birthday treat for them both. Well I mean to say, you only get one chance to celebrate your daughters 40th so we had to take action. They fly out tomorrow (Saturday) and we are flying out on Sunday to stay at the same hotel. This will be a complete surprise to them as we have managed to keep it quiet and they have no idea we are going.

Will be away for for one week, hotel does have good WiFi so will pop in now and again, possibly. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Jim.

PS. Before you ask Don, the sister in law is looking after Mick the Dog. ๐Ÿ˜‰

PPS . Note to Ken, post #154 in this thread has 36 copies of an image.

Iโ€™m sorry but you surely should have corrected that before you posted. I also have the same access but donโ€™โ€™t usually brag about it.:)

My PC is off ATM but you could check the error codes listed in the forum help section. Will have a look tomorrow if no one else replies.

    Error Codes are here. https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/…er-fault-codes

Ignore salt and rinse aid lights. Sadly in most cases this is caused by a failing main circulation pump.

Agreed, I wouldnโ€™t risk putting that back even if a customer said keep it going for a few weeks. If you do manage to remove it then knock that end with the hole on a hard surface outside and I promise you it will fracture.

Found it, the seal you SHOULD replace is THIS one.

The different sized bearings relate to much later WMA machines, yours have never changed in size at all.

NB: You should also replace the large black rubber seal from the drum front, failure to do this will often lead to leaks, don’t be tempted to use silicone to reseal.
Part number of seal is C00168172, can’t seem to see it or pattern alternative in our shop though?

TBH that spider doesnโ€™t sound to be likely to last long given your description of it, those nuts can be a problem but plenty of WD40 usually does the trick, an angle grinder is another way to remove really bad ones. Never failed to get them off eventually.

If you have a blow torch then applying some heat to the nut taking care to keep the flame away from the outer drum can help. TBH have only ever needed to do that on a couple of occasions and I must have removed many hundreds of these over 40 years, just wedged the pulley and used my Hotpoint supplied ring spanner and a few hefty blows from a lump hammer on the side of the spanner.

This is not the water seal Dave, it is attached to the front panel ( just slots on ) and is mainly to prevent small items from dropping into the base of the machine during loading/unloading. In fact it is perfectly safe to use the machine without this seal as long as you are very careful when loading the clothes.
Once these seals drop off they can be awkward to refit from the front, you will often find traces of fabric conditioner down the inside of the cabinet that gets under the lip of the seal and causes it to slide off.

The best way to refit is to remove the front panel completely and lie it flat on the floor. You can then clean all the surfaces before you refit the seal. You may see pieces of duct tape at the bottom stuck on the panel. Three or four pieces of new duct tape around the seal will help to hold it in place. TBH a new seal is also a better option but not sure if they are still available. I would try and refit the old one first.

However, modern biological detergents work properly when used with a cold fill. If you use them with hot water only for the wash cycle then the enzymes are killed off before they can do their work. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well you could try giving us the full model number for a start. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you are using 3 in one or 4 in 1 tablets or sachets you should not use any rinse aid. Are the arms actually going round? Set it to a wash programme and when you think it is washing open the door quickly. If it is pumping the water round you should get sprayed with water.
Are any of the lights flashing or is any error code displayed?

Are you in a hard water area?

Open it up and have a look, there is a possibility that the alloy tube that the drum bearings sit inside has corroded around the edge that the water seal sits inside. If it has then it is definitely new machine time.

A heating fault, most common causes on Indesit machines is either the heater itself or the main electronic control circuit board. The first thing to do would be to test the heating element, if that is OK then the pcb is the likely culprit.

Machine was made around 2008 onwards.

Did you connect this machine to the water supply or was it your plumber. If your plumbing has two taps, hot and cold then he may have connected it to the hot tap by mistake. Years ago all machines where hot and cold fill but these days 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} are cold fill only.
