Depending on amount of ferrous compond in the pots etc, will affect the performance had loads with supposed induction frielndly pots that take ages to heat up shoved an old enamelled pot on and they worked perfectlty, JJ

I’m sure the one shot is built into the element, the thermistor is just the same one as the wash thermistor on the washing machines, can be brown or black, a word of warning ive come across two now with the lifters melted into the drum so obviously the one shot did mot blow????, jj

Re: Hotpoint WD440 no heat on wash

I had one a customer had a go to before me had pictures and everything in colour before and after, sending 1st the main pcb to emw, then the front one for testing all came back no fault, any way it turned out it wasnt heating and i found out that he had connected th dryer heater circuit to to the wash heater terminlas on and wash heater to the dryer conections, as the dryer element was open circuit it was washing forver, that was his original fault a duff dryer the wonderful helpful internet had guided him to a faulty pcb, cost him a few £££’s in the end

Ihad one with the front baord clicking and flashing and the ice maker wouldnt work, after speakingto an ex whirlpool fse he advised me if the appliance was made before 2003 you had to fit both boards as the new boards are not compatible with the old ones not a cheap repair. JJ

    Re: Water Damaged Floor

I had a customer who worked freelance as a news reporter, i got called to his Hotpoint washing machine for leaking couldnt find a thing wrong with it, the utility room was like a galley kitchen with a fridge and freezer opposite the washing machine and t/drier you couldnt swing a cat in the place, about a week later he walked through to get something from his freezer and fell through the chipboard flooring due to water damage, cue mr a$&ole going to sue the pants of me and going to get it printed in every paper in the land, anyway i went back and found it was caused by his White Knight t/dryer which had been leaking under the lino which stopped at the front feet, he still tried to blame me as i hadn’t found the leak he reported, i lost it then and told him to piss off and i would see him in court, that was 2 and half years ago and i’m still waiting to see my good name in print.

Does it release when the power is removed, and it has not overfilled with water i would guess it is the board.
