Had 1 or 2 but usualy water ingress causes it, leaking from worktop or burst door seal , mostly in dirty middens.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA32 – Smoke & Flooding!
Got to correct you Penguin the reason Hotpoint fell into the hands of Indesit, was one of the parent company’s, Marconi who owned 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} once the mighty GEC spent their Billions buying up telecoms companys, when the bubble burst and Marconi went to the wall they started selling of all their other assets so that they could get cash to stay afloat. Hence in came Merloni to buy 51{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} stake of Hotpoint, GE of America decided sell their stake in blocks over a few years. Hotpoint at the time was still in profit.

ParticipantRe: WMA Rinse aid puzzler
The 1604111 rinse aid dispenser is the same but with a bit cutout, to help stop leaks, i would guess you might need a new dispenser, sounds like blocked jets or partialy blocked jets.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint FF78
Did you dry of the terminals and seal the plugs whith a sealant of some sort, i always do as most off the time its the terminals being damp that is causing the problems.

An update Amicus are balloting union members at present, option 1 accept whats on the table or option 2 reject whith knowledge, this will prob’ly lead to industrial action, non union engineers dont get a vote, the mood among the union guys is a bit volatile to say the least.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WM54 timer blown
The control units that have a fuse usualy had a FHP motor, it would only be laminated brushes if a new unit had been fitted to an older machine and the WM54 is a later machine.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WM54 timer blown
Something jamming the drum, chaffed wiring, duff motor usual suspects.
