checked connections for continuity so its probably the board. i’d rather not get involved if it is, cos buy the time i buy in a module and charge for fitting it they’d be better off calling hotpoint. its brownie points for me for being honest, and i’ve plenty on so i don’t need the hassle.
thanks for the replies it is appreciated.

i thought these “motors” had a 10 year warranty? is that parts and labour or just parts?

    flyman
    no it was different
    i ordered glen dimplex 082604619 47thc33/215

    i was sent indesit c00229692

i cant remember what the number on the stat itself was. according to masterparts site the one i ordered is also for a hotpoint eg71 or eg72.
the one i was sent fits hotpoint eg73 76 etc but not 72. i presume this is where my troubles have started. perhaps my easiest solution is to insist on getting the one i ordered and simply swap wires like for like which should put them where they should have been. i just would still like a diagram as a backup.
    thanks.

the 9 digit number on this belling is 23 1 00039

    thanks

thank goodness we have our city and guilds. can you tell me where its written that you need the c@g to issue a certificate. i’d love to know cos that rules out at least two of our competitors.
    thanks

    Re: PAT Testing

we have a pat testing and appliance repair business. we have a city and guilds certificate although my understanding is that any one who is deemed competent in the use of the tester can perform such tests.
with regard to class 2 vacuum cleaners the most important test is the visual. we see loads of uprights with exposed copper in the mains lead where its been run over with the brush. i don’t think i’ve ever failed one on insulation. our testers (seaward supernova plus) also does a power up test. this is where you discover that the motor is u/s very common on dysons.
our charge per item varies between £2 and £2.5.

if you sell recon appliances i.e. washers etc then you should test them prior to sale. under the sale and hire of goods act it is the duty of the vendor to take all reasonable precautions to ensure that the goods are safe.

we should all really do this both before and after each repair we do in customers homes. this is to minimise the risk to ourselves (health and safety at work) and of course to our customers in case we have left the appliance in a dangerous condition. the classic that i’ve done twice is nipping the harness on a hoover performer washer behind the motor screw.

isnt a bauknecht the same as a whirlpool? if so then look at the sticky for fault codes at top of this forum.

go on internet and log on to bshappliancecare.co.uk.
if you put the enr number in the search box you should be able to browse expoded diagrams.
the only thing i can suggest which i’ve had once, was a faulty mains suppressor which was letting through a bit of current but not enough to function.

dont know about this model, but if it appropriate then check that the blue wires on the multiplug are properly secured to the pcb. also if it aint been used for a while make sure that all connections havent got a build up of corrosion where plugs and connections are on circuit boards. i also hade one where i5t hadnt been used for so long that there was a build up of white oxidation on the motor carbon holders. a quick clean up and it was o.k

its a right awkward job. but word to wise the belt has probably snapped due to the drum rear support ring having worn away and collapsed. i’ve been to quite a few like that. when ever ive changed a belt i’ve done it without taking off the fan and passing it under the motor after loosening it.

Re: those nasty w/p pumps which leak from the rubber and…

i’ve used the piece of hose repair to keep job price down. however i’ve also changed loads of knackered pumps and each time i keep the impellor housing. i’ve got about six at moment. dare i say it may be delaying the inevitable, but then thats another job.
