spanner51 wrote:Usually the sort of folk who wear trainers are the same as those who wear denim jeans. Both are bad for image. I always wear clean shoes and smart working trousers, to enhance a professional appearence.
I wear a shirt with my company logo and my name on it ,I also wear smart jeans ,with boots .
I find working trousers dont last on the knees and jeans feel more comfortable.

I’ve had some Dickies work-boots for the last 2 months, £25, comfy, safe, and Dickies are cool 8)

They’re pretty quick to get on and off too 🙂
I wear these as well but I pay £19.99 from Ernest DoeLawrence

ParticipantRe: Yellow Pages
In my area the book has been split into two from Ipswich & Colchester into seperate books for each .
In the Ipswich book (my local one )I put our usual ad as a reminder that we are still here ,but in the other book I put in three small ads but in Bold I have placed brands as a heading followed by the phone no i.e SMEG repairs ,HYGENA Repairs ,DIPLOMAT Repairs ,and what do you know I am getting shed loads of Smeg And a bit of the others and when I am writing the bill and ask where they got my no from they all say the same thing ,the yellow pages because yours was the obvious one .the lovely thing is I charge £50 callout in Colchester and they always have them repaired as they are so expensive to replace .

ParticipantRe: “You must be CORGI registered to work on gas”
Tony unless you have a lapsed qualification in gas or a refrigertaion ticket forget it ,The only way otherwise is through a proven body of evidence that you can present to a training centre that is signed off by a registered operative that says you have done a set amount of solely gas work and have the job sheets to prove it .
