What did the megger say? Try disconnecting dryer element.

Thing is was there 230 present or 230 AND 0? In other words, a neutral.
Most, maybe all (?), modules control motor voltage from the neutral side.

Not cheap, but from the dimensions and details you could probably sort out something else to fit.

Chris, we lesser mortals like to have a moan now and again about how unfair life is. Please don’t spoil our pleasure. ๐
We just like to dream about how nice it would be if punters kept out of the way instead of trying to help the job along by taking it to bits before you get there and not making any notes. ๐ฟ

1 That’s about where I fit too, believe it or not. I don’t think there’s much doubt that we’re ruining the future for our own and many other species. (Rats and cockroaches will probably come out of it pretty well though.) The real problem is: What are the best ways to delay that ruin?
For example: Do we get on with building nuclear power stations now, or wait in the hope of cracking fusion? Or concentrate on energy efficiency?
2 Is what a crusade?

The Met Office can’t tell me, reliably, what the weather will be like next week with any greater than a 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance of being correct. This uses computer modelling of the local climate on a small scale over a small geographic area with lots of data and history on local weather patterns.
They then tell me that, in 50 years time, it will be up to 2รลกC warmer due to carbon emissions pumping Co2 into the atmosphere. This based on computer models on a global climate on a massive scale over a large geographic area with no data on weather patterns that far into the future, they seem to ignore the historic stuff for this.

You can’t tell me with any degree of certainty what will go wrong next with my washer. But you’re pretty sure that in the long term I’ll be better off with an ISE.
You’re an appliance expert and you expect people to listen to you on the things you know about. When they don’t listen and carry on buying crap, all you can do is shrug your shoulders.
If you choose not to listen to experts in climate science offering you the results of the best science they can do in an extremely complex field, then all they will do is shrug their shoulders and go on investigating.
Like the punter who buys the cheap washer because it saves him money now, you buy the climate change scepticism so you can carry on business as usual.
(No offence intended).

Bumping this because I want an answer. Anyone?
I’m sure now the first band is brown. Tolerance is 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} so that pretty much narrows it down to the following preferred values. I’m thinking of ordering a small pot and do it by trial and error. (EMW out of stock and would have to send old one in).

If it is a washer dryer, though your title suggests not, first check ins res of drier heater and try disconnecting it if it’s below 30 megs. or even below 50. If it’s just a washer, is there condensation on the brush holders?

Most consumers wash lots of clothes which aren’t really dirty. If they can be satisfied by the results they get with eco-balls then this should also keep ’em happy. What’s to lose?
Not sure of the environmental benefits of sending loads of nylon particles to landfill though. ๐

Can you unpack that a bit for me? I was taught not to twist but don’t know why not. As for not wiggling, how the hell else can you get them off sometimes? A straight pull with pliers can also damage them. And what would you use if you didn’t use a crimp?

Had a Hotpoint WM series doing same last week. Boot seemed OK but would just let a couple of spoonfuls dribble down the front. Lip not distorted or rusty. Customer wasn’t concerned about it, happy to collect it with a towel, as she’s been doing for years. I was thinking maybe of “thickening” the glass up with a couple of layers of clear weatherproof tape which is used for repairs to greenhouses. Might work, might not. I might try it next time I see this.
