It’s on mediator at connect. PM me your e-mail if you haven’t got an a/c there.

Yup, that’s why I stopped where I did! I did poke around gently with my thin stainless butter knife (one of the most useful tools I have) but needed some reassurance about where to insert. Thanks for that.
When the door is open, do you get a totally dead, no lights situation?
I didn’t mention that the customer had changed the fuse and that the machine had come on briefly after she did so. (Turned out to be a 3 amp :rolls: ).Mike.

Does sump hose have a table tennis ball in it? If so, try removing it. Better still, try and observe the sump hose when machine is pumping. Is it getting crushed by vacuum pressure?

If they say it’s OK, it’s their responsibility if something goes wrong. Just cos it’s Ok in one case doesn’t make it universally so. Always best to err on the safe side. (IMO).

Can’t now remember, didn’t mediator show an exploded diagram?

They are listed in Mediator.
Grill/oven CA5G000A3 –> NLA –> a Brandt alternative BNT71X2831.
Oven (base) CA5F000A7.
Only the Brandt element is in stock £33 though.

About 3 or 4 times the price of that ZN1421 from MP though.
I didn’t mean you should buy there, just use the free info 😉 which is pretty darn’ comprehensive, including oem p/no.s.

How many, sent to the error codes thread, ever return? What happens to them….?

Common fault. Green coloured solenoid coil (drier) works for 10 mins then goes o/c as it warms up. Replace; all will be well.

You don’t say what model it’s for but I’d think it easy enough to find a 2000w alternative to fit. I’ve even fitted an element with a different bracket, necessitating the drilling of extra holes when the correct replacement was unobtainable/obsolete.
I have used elements of a 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} lower power but think increasing the power by that much is not something worth even the minute risk.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool not ‘whirling’
Since it worked a couple of times after you took the motor off and put it back on, I would think there could be an intermittent connection there somewhere; maybe at motor plug or in that area.

Looks a bit different from the one on Connect 5031688222090 but their pattern version is oos. 🙁

I still remember thinking the 95 series were rubbish. Jim probably remembers thinking the 18000 series were junk. 😆

ParticipantRe: Candy D7R Turbodry t/dryer thermostat on back of element
I rang Gias and they assured me that the part I require is 06012018. I ordered this and it has arrived. However, it is a totally different type of stat than the one in the machine. The original is a round, enclosed type about an inch diameter. The new one is an open Klixon type like you used to find stuck on old Creda elements of the wire type. I rang them again and explained the situation and they assured me it is the correct part. 😕
I asked if they could guarantee that it would be safe and not catch fire. The person on the ‘phone did not seem able to understand my dilemma.
They said if I wanted to return it I could do so but would not be refunded for the postage (£2.99) they had paid to send it to me.
Oh well. Just more cr@p treatment from suppliers.
